I picked up a universal kit from Ebay drop shipped from China for $12. Just got it and installed it earlier today. I used some 1/4" loom to protect the wire. Install was maybe 30 minutes. Tested it out tonight....will never have trouble seeing under the hood at night now!

Nice. I was about to ask how they were switched on but I saw the pin switch at the right side.
How are the lights mounted? Double sided tape?

They use a switch. I mounted mine over by the headlight. It would be easy to use a toggle switch instead or hook then up to a controller if you wanted. It uses the 3M type adhesive to attach the LED to the hood. I ran the wires down through the hood....wasnt bad. I used some loom to protect the wires and give it a more OEM look.

That is the kit I went with....had the 1/4" loom already but it isnt included. I would recommend using it to protect the wiring.

Did you use the existing hole or drill another for this kit?

Today went to add washer fluid....light isnt working. Looks like the first Canadian winter messed up the hood switch. Anybody have suggestions on a good replacement?

    Edit:

Nevermind.....fuse holder had moisture in it and was corroded too. Pulled it all out and threw it in the trash. Chinese junk. Least not too much money wasted and took 2 minutes to remove it.

Just saw this older post but I used an existing hole up near the drivers headlight for the switch. No need to drill.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
When I saw Ebay, China and $12, I was thinking this ^^. The pictures, when new, were impressive.

Recently added a new one when switching to skewpt hood. The one on plain hood wasn't doin too good any more. Used existing connection and switch pin...20220217_154758.jpg

Yeah that was the same place I put mine. Your switch looks better sealed than mine was....it was already corroding.

Thanks for the quick reply. Guess that means I don't need to buy anything else then.

Correct. I mounted the switch on the battery side of the truck on the frame - there's a perfect hole. The only downside is that you have to physically turn it on/off by pushing instead of using a pressure activated switch.
