I've been getting the apparently very common AC condensation dripping on my passenger side floorboard so I'm trying to fix that before our trip. Two questions:

    1) I'm still getting condensation dripping outside below the truck so that means the drain line isn't entirely clogged. Why would I therefore be getting dripping inside on the floorboard? Are there other causes for that?

    2) I ran a wire up into the drain line to clear anything out, but I could only get the wire about 6 inches in. Is that as far as I should expect or does that mean I'm running into a serious clog (and if I am, how am I still seeing condensation dripping below the truck)?

    Thanks.

So that blows air in rather than sucking air out. Wouldn't that just blow whatever is clogging it further inside the system? Or is there a different rubber tube that I would use that on to blow things out of the drain line?

Yes, but it dislodges the formation to wash out. It completely dismembers the gunk.

I've only had one clog on a different car but a quick blast of air up it from a compressor fixed it.

Nor that. It definitely only happens when the AC is running. I'm wondering if maybe something isn't sealed properly and condensation is just leaking out where it shouldn't.

UPDATE: After using a vacuum cleaner on the drain line, running a wire up into it AND using an air compressor, it's still dripping. I took a photo of what's under the dash. The drip on the floorboard is directly below the point where all of the wires come together. The green circle is around what looks to me to be another drain line but that was totally dry. I can't find any diagrams that are helping me figure out specifically where the dripping is originating.

If it's super humid and dew point is high moisture can condense on the duct itself. It should slow and stop once the cabin temp/humidity lessens, though.

Ha, maybe! Once the cabin cools and the humidity inside goes down, like after 15-20 minutes of driving with AC on, I would think it would slow down as the dew point drops below the temp of the duct surfaces. Next time its dripping take the same picture you just posted but from a couple different angles to try and see the sides of those ducts.

Living in Louisiana, I learn to live with the drips of water on my passenger side floorboard.
