So I read all 49 pages of this forum over the past couple days during down time at work
I jotted down notes that I found will be useful, so I will share in case it helps anyone else considering this unit.
First off, this is the link I used to purchase the unit
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08KD68BZT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_96RVTF4GJAMFHJDD10TZ

    Avoid this unit if:
You have jbl auto (still haven't seen a solution to audio cutting off)
If you really want android audio (from your phone, otherwise the unit is android and you can use all this)

    Functions that you will lose
    - Song list in the instrument cluster
    - Navigation on the instrument cluster
    - Back up quality goes down a bit

    Tips I found useful
    1. Get an app launcher for a better interface. Try out many and use what you like most. These app launchers can also be mapped to the home button.

    2. Scosche makes a mount that makes the installation more flush, with a little bit of trimming on the bezel. If you decide not to use the mount, a little tape on the bottom half could work.
Here is a link to the mount.
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XYBT88X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_BFYQGEPSKD2TB6NJ0BFB?_encoding=UTF8

    3. The beginning of page 6 is a good place to see a detailed install.

    4. Carplay is used through Z link via bluetooth and then wifi.

    5. If skip track doesn't work, try going to factory/original car agreement/reversal previous and next/on
*** skip track might not work in apple play if not on the apple play screen.

    6. Updating firmware will delete all saved settings. Wise to update firmware during first install and jot down settings you save for future firmware updates.

    8. Updating firmware can be done with a usb drive using fat32 and unzipping the files from the folder onto the drive.
    https://www.joyingauto.com/blog/category/updated-files-released/

    7. OBD reader that works for torque pro is ELM327, and some higher end ones actually might not work.
    https://www.amazon.com/obdator-Blue...child=1&keywords=ELM327&qid=1625028545&sr=8-6

    8. Associated pins
    Factory Settings = 3368
    UI = 8086
    VLINK = 0000 or 1234

    9. Disable the accessibility button if you are having problems with the "overlapping circle"

    10. Restart a unit a couple times if you are having issues entering your google password

    11. Someone had issue of physical buttons only lighting up while headlights were on. This might be fixed in settings, but could not confirm if anyone fixed it.

    12. Cluster showing km instead of mph is fixed next to speedometer next to 2 gauges, not the actual head unit.

    13. If having fob issues, such as trouble connecting or doors not unlocking when put in park, try unlocking with physical key, and then locking with fob to work again. If this doesn't work, maybe try unplugging/disabling antenna.

    14. If youtube is randomly turning on, Set the unit to open Navigation (or whatever app you choose) 5 seconds after power up. Open the recent app window and clear all. The unit likes to open whatever was last open. If that's YouTube, it will open that every time. Even if it does open YouTube, the nav app (set to Google maps in my case) opens after 5 seconds.

    15. Idt anyone found a solution to Celsius to Fahrenheit, but I don't believe it is possible

None of these tips are mine, they are just what I summarized. Shout out to @5nahalf for his consistency throughout this discussion as well as others who contributed. Hope this summary helps, and feel free to add anything that I may of missed or that I screwed up on.

Sounds like for people who really want to use Android Auto, we need to just spend more money on a better system..

That's all I want is Android Auto, and the temperature in F of course haha..

There's a pioneer unit that does wireless android auto, but it's $1200 which is way overpriced.

Sorry to revive such an old comment, but do you recall how you got the rear camera to start working?
    Thank you!!

thanks for all the help just read all 49 pages. most people on here seem to want the wireless car play feature this offers based on over 900 post, but wired car play is the most important feature for me how functional is it? any hiccups comparing wired to wireless?

    thanks daniel

So I just installed the head unit and everything appears to seem alright
Idk if the old models had this or if I seen people with these issues, but with the newer model I was able to remove the Celsius (not change it tho)
Also my unit dims if my headlights are on

I also was able to keep music on while in reverse

but idk how this happened lol
Somewhere through going through my settings, I made it to where my apps appear small when I press the button to see all the apps. Anyone have this issue?
