Pardon my ignorance, but am I to understand this setup can simply attach to the 2" receiver and become a fully functional recovery system? I'm not thinking about towing the titanic off the bottom of the ocean and I'm sure there is lots to learn about strap width, length, material etc, but the idea that you can simply attach this to the hitch receiver is valid ?

Been there…done that. It is not a problem, that’s what it is there for and a good idea to carry with you.

Thanks folks - looks like I want to now build out a rear-seat-deck ( access cab ) with hinges to access the 'floor' where I can store 'stuff' and also to access
the jack etc. Kinda like what this person did but I want to hinge down the blue-line so I can lift-up from either side. This recovery setup will be part of that 'stuff'.

Dogs could ride back there too.

If you're never gonna have passengers back there, just ditch the rear seats and put in a molle panel.

A dynamic strap works a bit better than static straps. Dynamic stretches with the pull so its less jarring on the vehicles

I'm skeeeeert to do it - would love to - but I'm chicken-little... plus I'm old and it's about 110 degrees outside ... I may post something on the AZ thread
to see if anyone around me has done it and would be willing ( for cash ) to give me a hand with it.

I think (verify) that the wall of the cab is the same for all cabs behind the OEM panels.

EDIT there's an AC specific on in here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/everything-molle-bs.410254/
