    Hi,
This is my 1st post.. I bought the Sokietech struts for my 2014 Taco. The package indicates it's for 05-15 Tacomas however they don't seem to made for my year vehicle. The included instructions are pretty poor & the brackets are a weird configuration that I can't figure out. I noticed that here on this forum some people have made similar comments re: these struts & have also commented that they they had to "modify/alter" the brackets ,etc. I 've looked at all the related hood strut install videos on Youtube & no one seems to have made one for these years vehicles. I would eternally grateful if anyone on this forum can tell me or better yet show me how they modified the parts to make them fit/function properly. BTW, the struts seem too short & I can't even compress them! Anyway Thank you. Rad1

Being retired and staying inside because it's Africa hot outside, I search Sokietech struts and didn't come up with a lot. Do they have their own web site? While doing my searches, nothing came back for 2005 to 2015, mainly for 3rd gen. Seems like even here on TW it was all 3rd gen. Can you provide a link from where you purchased them from?

I bought them on Ebay. I have contacted seller re: problem I'm having & have asked for his help if possible. I told him I would further research the problem however if I'm not able to resolve the matter I would be returning the struts or chance on exchanging for newer style for newer tacoma as they seem more straightforward & probably fit w/ little or no modification as see on youtube. here's the link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/303708526174?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
    BTW thanks for replying

Reviews seem to indicate a fit problem. Unless you are willing to troubleshoot with what you have while dealing with the stress along with a possible less than optimal results, I'd return them. Once returned, I'd search out a set that has good long standing reviews. I put on a set of Redline hood struts from CaliRaised about 10 years ago and they're still going strong. There are others out there as well that are highly rated.

Here's a set. I do not watch All Girl's Garage, but her youtube videos are pretty good.
