3rd Gen on BFG K02's 295/70r17 or 285/75r17 tires? What lift/spacers/etc?

    Hi, I have a 3rd gen tacoma and was curious if anyone could offer any advice on what's needed to fit these tires with no rub?

    I'm looking at either 295/70r17's or 285/75r17's?

    I have...
    - 2.5" lift front and rear, as well as SPC Upper control arm's and an add-a-leaf(if that matters)
    - FN Wheels Konig 6 Shooter 17" w/ zero offset and 8inch width

    Would I need a cab mount chop, spacers, etc? Also if anyone has pics of these BFG K02 or equivelant on their trucks, curious to hear and see how you like em?!

    youll have to trim quite a bit of plastic, and CMC at the very least. im on kings set around 2.5" and my 285/75/17s rub, even after trimming and cmc.295s will likely rub also since they are wider.

    Okay good to know thanks. Sounds like 285/70r17s might be the largest size without and trimming possible?

    Yes you’re right, although all trucks are different and what works for one may not work for you. I had 285/70s before my 285/75/17s and didn’t experience any rub

    295/70R17s on 3/2” lift approx Fox 2.5/TC UCA, aggressive CMC/pinch weld fold/rear plastic trimming and 5 degrees of caster

    With no spacers no rubbing anywhere, with 1.25” spacers minor rub but I can still full send.

    Once you start getting over a 32.5-33" tire the best direction to go is with a JD Fabrication lower control arm mount. Not only for the benefit of moving lower ball joint forward but getting rid of the flimsy mounts. You can also read the (fitting 35's) posts and learn a lot. Hear is the link to JD Fab.     I ended up going with 295/70r17 BFG ko2 with a -38 offset and a cmc and some more trimming of course and only did a 2.5 lift with eibach stage 1 and at a full turn I hit my cab mount with the chop still. I am now doing a relocation and c-4 high clearance fender because as soon as I take it off road I am going to fuck my shit up. It’s definitely a learning experience and so many different variables
