Not truck stuff, but still working on things.

Kiddo and her Boyfriend are in the process of moving. He rode her bike from the other side of town to the house….. almost.. it was coughing on the highway and finally shut down. She calls as I walk in the house from work, I hook up the trailer to go recover it off the highway.

Finally home and they go back to get his. BF is giving Daughter hell because it’s a Harley.. BF says his import (Kawasaki crotch rocket) will have no issues. Do you see where this is going?. He makes it here, barely, himself. Haha funny stuff.

Draining the tank was taking fooor evvvver till I thought after a few min… hang on homie, this has a electric fuel pump. Cycled that mofo about a good 50+ times to completely drain it as much as possible. Thank God for the quick disconnect fuel line.

Hook up the gas line, crank up, and let it run for a few. Slowly rev till it sputters and back off. Do this a few times till empty. Gonna fill with fresh gas this week and see how it goes. Might might go the same to Her BF’s scooter as well.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
They picked the wrong weekend for this annual event. It's our anniversary weekend.

Depends on the user but I'm all for it. My fuel tank skid is just 1/4" UHMW and I love it. Very light and just slides over everything.

I just got the cheapest end links for mine to get inspected this week. I know supposedly not required, but don't want to chance it after @3pooches Shannon's truck failed for that lol. Thank goodness for no emissions in Mechanicsville

Ive got no sway bar, no rear cats, and open cab mount chop. No issues with the safety inspection. Good for another year :bananadance:

thought I might have an issue with the cam gears that I replaced, but all good

Dang hahaha maybe I shouldn't be as worried. The more I learn and do stuff with the 4runner, I get worried about stuff passing lol

Safety is basically lights, wipers, tires, brakes, suspension, make sure nothing is leaking.. I don't even think you need a rear wiper. Ive passed with a broken one before

Yeah I haven't had a rear wiper for a while. Mostly concerned about a rust hole in the very rear corner cap of my frame lmao

If interested I have a Trail Toys UHMW Gas Tank Skid for sale (edit: 2005+ Short Bed or Access Cab compatible). It is the blue one but I painted the underside black. With some sandpaper it could be all blue again. :) It was never installed so all of the hardware is still new. I'd sell it for $75.

Here is the original thread on this skid: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/trail-toys-uhmw-gas-tank-skid.365312/
