I wonder if this is an inherent problem when working with aluminum? my last aftermarket high performance radiator for an rx-8 didn’t even have a drain plug.

75% sure they're all gone. I let it rest overnight and it took in probably 1/4 of the overflow tank.. I topped it off and used the funnel bucket to attempt another bleed. Holding throttle and quick throttle stabs didnt seem to yield any more bubbles.

Only part I find odd is that it seems to get up to temp alot faster than before. Not sure if it's a bubble somewhere or if thats just how it is. Ive noticed this issue with my other cars that have had full aluminum radiators. But it could be me hyper-focusing on my ultraguage and being paranoid.

I had to do a fresh fill on an engine last week. It got a bad air pocket. Wouldn't let the water circulate.

There is a small coolant hose, which kind of has the shape of a "j". On the t-stat housing. Left side. Under the upper radiator hose. I carefully pulled that off, careful to use the hose to aim the hot air/steam away from my hand. There was a nice hot air pocket that came out. Once the air stopped, coolant flowed. Pulling that off for a test may help. May do nothing if your system is air bubble free already.

Also, pretty sure you did, but I will type it anyhow. Did you turn the heater on high, to get the coolant to circulate through those hoses as well?

I did. Heater blows hot. I also squeezed both radiator hoses and heater hoses while I was bringing it up too temp. I might give that a try later this week.

Does no one like those over sized radiator cap funnels?

It should just be a cap. Probably not a special adapter needed. Or just put the funnel into the neck

AFE still has them too. Plus you can get decent savings on sales.

That being said, I still havent installed my AFE, so I have no idea if they will fit or not. Hopefully this spring

Is 19lbs same as stock? Granted the new radiator can handle that but can the old heater core with plastic tanks?
