I know hybrid has a 6x9 with a tweeter option but it’ll probably be above your price point

Well Marv is one of the OG’s for audio on this forum which he’s not really active here much. Met him in person and I was impressed with what he did with stock speakers and just a DSP. I find entry level speakers and stock speakers to be the same shit tbh

Yeah, budget was my specialty. My particular Best Buy location didn’t carry high end brands, and our typically clientele didn’t want to spend the big bucks. Dolby can help you spend some cash and I love keeping up with his posts to see his input. There is certainly a market for high end systems. I just wasn’t in it lol

I value Destin's opinion as well since i have been out of the sales side of the industry for over 20years. I worked a great shop that carried Alpine, Rockford, Kenwood, Phoenix Gold, Mb Quart, Infinity, MTX, JBL and many others. The tech has changed so much and even though my old shop is still there, the installers that i had confidence in have moved on. When i stop by now and take a peek into the install bays, my first thought is no way they will touch my car now. We use to stay over late at night helping each other and treating each car as if it was our own. I definitely dont see that now. I rely on asking Destin the how to questions now especially since he has recent knowledge of the new harnesses and equipment thats out there. This forum is definitely much better due to his willingness to answer and help. I have never used Crutchfield but i do keep in mind they are in the business to sell sell sell but there is a easiness factor that comes into play going through them but i highly doubt they have listened or have first hand experience with all the products they carry.

The only reason I pulled the trigger on the Infinities was the 50% off sale, bringing them to $75 and reading the reviews. Not going to go crazy but would like better than stock.
Was originally going to take the easy way with the Subaru tweeters but saw the Black Friday sale and thought they might get better results and cheaper.

I never saw any problems with the infinity Kappa series speakers. I actually ran one of their amps on my highs in a previous car. Ive never ran 6x9 components so this will be a first for me in finding what type I want to put in my truck. I like the plug n play option of that Focals but i dont see myself spending $300 on speakers anymore for 1 set. I don't want to go to a 6.5 up front as i think the extra midbass from the 6x9 will be nice. Im also in the process of researching some amps to run highs and maybe a single sub. I have been reading up on the new Rockford 400.1 amp. You can run 2 channels to the fronts and bridge the rear for a sub. I think the Infinity's will be fine up front.

I’m thinking to change my stock audio system and I really like this setup...it’s not pricey and add CarPlay/Android auto which is what I wanted..thanks

Destin thanks for the input in this thread and steering me towards component speakers. While I didn’t opt for the setup you mentioned I could not be happier with what I’ve got... so far.

I ended up going with the Sony XAV-AX1000 simply because it had a physical volume knob. Weird thing to want but oh well... I put in some Focal PS 165FX speakers in the front and ran all new speaker wire to them. Wow is all I can say. The quality is incredible and blows my fiancé’s new Jeep out of the water.

I plan on ordering a set of coaxial Focals in the next week or two and putting them in the rear and putting in a sub / amp this summer.

All in all I could not be happier with my setup. The Focals are unbelievable.

Is there a walkthrough showing how to do tweeters other than the Subaru ones? I can't find anything and I've never installed tweeters before so I want to make sure I do it right and order the right parts.

Interested in this as well. Is there a commercial "wiring adapter" that lets you use existing wiring with aftermarket components? Is there a mounting adapter for the 3rd gen dash locations? I'd prefer not to cut or run new wires.

The 2nd gen wasn't too hard with everything in the door.
