Mileage? Are you current on maintenance (spark plugs, air filter, engine oil and atf fluid changes).

    Form follows function
Milkshake color substance where coolant should be? Feel any exhaust coming out of your oil filler neck when removing the cap? Some cheap ways to see if you have blown head or valve train problems. Anything more would need further diagnostics (leak down or compression test)

No check engine light or error codes stored?

Silly question, parking brake is fully released? Brake shoe self adjusters aren’t over tightened? If it’s been awhile since the plugs were replaced, remove one & check the gap.

Yeah dude. Before you start going gung ho on items at 68,000 miles you may want to check for codes first.

If nothing then you may want to start with the basics. Spark, and fuel delivery, if both of those test out more than okay then you move onto air delivery.

If you have access to a scanner that can give you proper PID data I would strongly suggest checking the short and long term fuel trims and report those back.

All of this being said, my money is on a defective POS fuel pump.

no check engine light, and i have never replaced plugs. Im gonna take it up to autozone i guess and see if they can find anything. I notice throttle response is very poor when driving in city i continuously have to push accelerator pedal farther and farther down for it to actually react and speed up. Thank you for responses

Spark plugs are recommended every 30,000 miles. Even if it's not the issue (which it very well could be) I'd replace them with a fresh set of copper plugs from the dealer or these Denso plugs

I noticed 5% improvement in MPG from new plugs. Another 5% after doing rear diff oil, transfer oil, front diff oil, and trans oil. Another few percent from changing my front wheel bearings.

AH HA! I'm in agreement with stickyTaco. I did mine awhile back. Holy crap, how did it still start and run with a gap that huge.

Take the coils off. Hit each plug with a hammer and break the white part in half. Put all the new plugs in the gas tank.

    Just kiddin. Don’t do that.

Search the stickies. I’m sure it’s there. I blow the area the old plug is in with an air blow gun to get any dirt that may have settled down there before removing the plug. I like to center and gap each new plug. Put them in with anti seize on the threads. The one on the drivers side rear is tricky. Search and you’ll find instructions how to do it.

Once you’ve mastered the ability to search, you’ll find debates on to torque to spec or not. Use anti seize or not.
