Hopefully, Ive never bricked one of these units so I dont know, but the xda forums are going to be your best resource for fixing it.

Hey guys. so I got the unit installed in my 2021 TRD Sport, everything works except the reverse camera, but it sounds like it's a harness issue; Joying is mailing me a new one, so we shall see *fingers crossed*. I really enjoy this unit over the stock unit, the only thing I haven't figured out yet is how to make my Android Auto maps turn dark at night - the standard Maps does tho, so not terribly worried.

Anyway, on to business. I bought this Alpine powered sub: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OYGGMXK?ie=UTF8
I'm a total noob when it comes to this stuff, so I'm just wondering if any of you have experience hooking one like this up to this head unit. I've tried reading around, and I'm not certain if I need to splice into speaker wires, or if I can just hook directly into the head unit.

I appreciate any help, you guys rock!

Since that unit has RCA inputs on it, you can just run RCA cables from the back of the headunit to the sub. Then just run your power and ground for it and hook up the remote turn on lead (blue wire on the back of the headunit)

Awesome, thanks man, I was thinking that was the case. I will give it a go tomorrow when it comes in!

I'll also update regarding the new harness/reverse camera when it arrives as well.

Just wanted to thank everyone for sharing their experiences on getting this unit installed.

Can confirm that after much trial and error, everything indeed works on my 2021 TRD Sport. New harness/canbus fixed the reverse camera issue, so now that works, steering wheel controls, sensors, powered sub, etc. I'm thrilled that after about a month and a half of back and forth with Joying that it fully works.

    Thanks again guys.

While I know this has turned into the joying thread, its still my audio build thread :)

JBL just released a new 3 inch version of their midrange speaker (the one I have in the dash) I might have to upgrade to the 3 inch to get a little more low end up higher in the dash.

I'm going to do some looking into this myself, but does anyone have the connection issues/dropouts if they have been wired to their phone?

So I just installed the anytime camera kit (MY14-19 version) for front and rear cameras. Works exactly how it should with the Joying, the electrical elements of the install were easy, snaking wires through grommets and dashboard a bit less so. gave me another chance to apply hot glue to the usb connections as I continue to test the "USB ports loose like old wizards sleeve" Android Auto intermittent disconnect theory. I also managed to strip out one of the threaded holes that secures the dash mounting bracket to the side of the radio chassis, so I guess heads up to not overtighten that. I havent noticed any big difference in camera quality between the OEM one in the tailgate and the off-the shelf 12v "Nakita" unit they provide as the front camera, but I will have to check back at night to compare the low light performance

I hooked up my 10.5 screen and installed a SIM card.

For some reason, I can’t watch you tube even tho there is service on the unit.

I have to tether/hotspot WiFi from my phone in order for YouTube to start loading.

Hopefully it’s a setting issue I missed some where?

Otherwise paying for a SIM card is a waste of money if it’s only good for gps to be online.

You might have to change the settings to allow youtube to play on cell networks. Its a data saving option in youtube.

Edit: I got everything working as it should. It was all in the wifi setting.

I looked high and low and I can not find that option to change the option.

Good to know this works, I read that it doesn’t previously.
I wanted to ride off this comment, can I buy just the nakita camera and install it into the video in port? If so is there an app or way to access it once installed?

Guessing here: you should be able to use the one yellow RCA input on the back of the Joying as an rca camera input like any "normal" aftermarket head unit, I think there's an "aux" app or something to access it, but I didn't try it; I used the harness jumpers. Usually that app shows a "no signal" warning just like a normal head unit with no camera connected.

So I plugged in the nakita camera and it worked on that app.

Now just to figure out how to mount in on my non pro grill. Just normal OEM OR grill
