That’s cool, I appreciate the info. My final take is that I probably shouldn’t expect it to be as bulletproof as the 2.7i4, or the 4.0V6, but that it’s likely to be the most reliable of its class when comparing it to the competition.

I don't think there's any reason to believe the 5.7 isnt as reliable as the 2.7 or the 4.0. The 5.7 has been around for a long time now and mostly unchanged. Tried and True and extremely small amount of problems. The Tundra just isnt as popular as the Tacoma which is why you hear so much about the Tacoma engine reliability.

KD Max Tune, King 2.5 coil overs T.C. UCA's, Deaver leafs, 17x9 Black Rhyno Warlords, 33" Toyo M/T's, Metal Tech rear bumper, Westin HDX drop steps with Bullet Liner coating, K&N CAI, Baja Designs fog pods, Rigid Midnight addition 3" pod ditch lights. Cali Raised brackets and 32" behind the grill mounted light bar, Southern Style Offroad Lopro Stage II front bumper, Warn winch, FACTOR 55 Ultra Hook, FACTOR 55 Hawes Fairleed, full debadge, Cosmetic goodies such as 15% carbon tint, matte black in channel rain guards, interior LED's, Teton Workshop shift knob, Inferno vinyl detailing on the interior, Cali Raised multi rocker switch cubby insert with Mc Tuning LED switches and a few other mods I've probably left out.
I have a 2010 with 110k miles on the OD. Now I know that's not a lot considering but its 110k miles of mostly towing and hauling and 110k miles of flawless running( my work truck and daily driver). Not so much as an interior squeak. Different truck and all but my father-in-laws 07 has over 400k miles. He's a structural engineer and works on electrical towers far out in the wilderness so his driving is mostly dirt and gravel roads carrying a camper and a loaded utility trailer. Not to mention all the hunting trips to Wyoming. The tundra is a solid runner you will be more than happy with and if you're coming from a Tacoma you're going to love the room and the power

There was a first gen guy that recently posted on the Tundra forum with over 500K miles. A 2nd gen owner on there has 400k miles and he's not even changed the transmission fluid....ever.

I went from a Tundra to a Tacoma and it doesn't tow that great. People on the Tacoma section are pulling travel trailers but I sure would not. I towed my 18' boat to get it winterized and it sure worked the truck.

I used to sling around around 3000 lbs of jet boat and trailer with the 2019 taco. It was noticeable but not awful. I don’t even notice its back there in the Tundra.

I had a 2001 4.7 tundra for 19 years, and 292k miles original frame being here in connecticut. Still ran perfect when i sold it last year.

I went from the tundra to a tacoma. My tacoma tows fine for what i need it for. Pulls my 2k lb boat, and my loaded 5x10 aluma utility trailer just fine. Don't miss the tundra at all.

I ran my 2007 to 315k miles before I traded it in (still got 8.5k trade value in Jan. 21). I had the fuel pump go out at about 295k and a shift solenoid go bad right at 300k. Other than that, the thing ran like it was supposed to. Traded it for a 2018 TRD Sport with 40k and plan on running this for another 300k
