Has anyone opened and switched this panel 90 degrees, so that the volume will be "Up & Down", and track listing will be "Side to Side"?

Was hoping to find it on YouTube, without luck.

Exactly, thank you. The Tacoma button is counter-intuitive, my wife's Prius Prime has the button oriented correctly (volume: up/down; selection: right/left)

Saw someone say that the button is oriented the same way as the volume bar on the screen and that helped my brain remember where to push

Thankfully they put these helpful little symbols on the button to remind you.

TW sure does like to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

There's been many, many threads about this and I've yet to see a resolution... I think it's safe to say, it's more work than it's worth.

The OP knows that no one had done it yet and still asked. So if it is a big deal to use the button in its current configuration just take it out and turn it.

I doubt it will fit but who knows until someone tries it. Mounting bracket is not likely to switch around like the op wants

well hopefully this thread will rehash all the same shit the last 3 did and result in nothing useful, and then the OP will be satisfied because it was their thread and not someone else's.

    hooray.

BTW, if you turn it 90* so + is up, then the next track button will be to the left and that is shit

Exactly. It is the correct way. Even if someone thinks it is wrong how could you not just get used to it after the first time you drive?

The urgent problems of society continue to grow. World peace, global warming, hunger, war, and Tacoma volume buttons.

    Sorry missed most of Friday

None of those things matter as they will never be solved, included the volume button.

    Really.

Live your own life and enjoy.

It took me exactly a day to understand the logic and do it.
They did it to correspond with the radio and XM channels + the volume slider on the screen.
Will some people, like the OP, ever "get it" or will they always be frustrated by thinking that their way is always the right way. Tune in tomorrow fans, to see what happens.
My bet is he does not show back up. Any takers?

The wheel would look better minus the controls, and none of those buttons can select a gear, or turn ECT on or off. Toyota should get rid of them and knock $100 off MSRP.
