I've searched around, but have come up empty.
Are there any specific winches that are recommended/guaranteed to fit the SOS Concepts 2012-2015 Front Winch Bumper?

I'm not new to 2nd Gen Tacomas, but I am new to armor and winches.
So, I can look up benefits of this winch or that, but I've seen other bumpers mention specific ones.
Unfortunately the SOS site doesn't mention any specific models.
I was hoping to order up a winch, fogs, & bar light before the bumper gets here in the next month or so. I figure they are all easier to install and wire up before installing the bumper.

    Thanks

Not sure if this will be helpful or not, but I have a SOS streamline bumper (3rd gen) and the smittybilt x20 fits great and so far (1.5 yrs) has worked out well for me.

    Good Luck with that.

You're absolutely right, install all at once so you don't have to take it apart again. As far as I've seen most any 8-13k winch will work. I know of people using Smittybilt, Harbor Freight Badlands, Warn, X-Bull, etc

Most 10k winches should fit. Smittybilt X20 works for me.

Pretty much a one man show, hard to answer the phone when your are building the product. He might have hired someone by now, I haven't kept up.

Ya, it seems he's entirely a one man show again. His last update email mentioned rising steel prices, availability, and so needing to let employees go.
Given that, I'd rather just let him keep building and see what info I can find in the community. He had posted links for lightbars that would fit. Unfortunately winch fitment was left out.

Thanks, that's helpful. I would hope anything that fits in the smaller "Streamline" bumper would work in the full-size one.
I might go for one of the newer Smittybilt 3rd Gen winches, but hear the Warn mentioned a lot too. Sounds like it's time to research some 10K and shop around.

A few mods here and there and counting....
Smittybilt X20 fits perfectly. Solenoid box moved to the left side w provided hardware.

Thanks, outxider. That's exactly what I was hoping to see.
Smittybilt X20 here I come. Can't wait to see my bumpers come in.

Is there any reason to not go with the newer Gen3 Smittybilt winches? They certainly make them seem better. winch.smittybilt.com
Though it seems the X2O got left in Gen2. There's only XRC in Gen3?
And right now the Gen2 X2O is the same price as the Gen3 XRC. Normally the Gen3 XRC is $650, $50 more. 4wheelparts
Though the wireless vs wired seems like it might make up for everything else. I see winching alone sometimes as a likelihood.
I'm still figuring out what features are actually important.

    I went with a 2nd Gen Smittybilt X2O.
4WheelParts had them for $50 off, $550, but I should have waited longer. A day after I picked it up, they ran a 10% off sale and customer service wouldn't respond to any of my messages. (I had grabbed a few other items in the same order.)

Now that I have the SOS bumpers in, I have other issues:
