I've only had my 2009 TRD Off Road for a week or so now. I've got the VSC Off switch, and an A-Trac switch. What are the practical "real world" uses for these functions. I got into a little loose dirt the other day and hammered on the throttle only to have the traction control take over and de-rate the engine. I've never had a vehicle that did this, always having driven 3/4 ton Chevrolets. Of course, hammering the throttle on one of those in the same situation equals fish-tailing and a lot of dust. Not much else. The Tacoma did not do that so maybe it is fine. But what about mud? How are these tools going to function there? I'm in the mud all the time, and not for fun. Ok, well maybe I have fun a little.

Once you get yourself stuck or off road in some nasty shit, you'll be thanking Christ that you have a rear locker and the off road goodies. Trust me on this.
