3rd gen 2017 Tacoma OR Crash

Hey all, been a while since I posted here. Unfortunately my wife and I were in an accident. Some A-hole ran the red light and we collided.

Torn if the Taco should be deemed a 'Total Loss' or get fixed.

 

Ouch, sorry to hear this. Glad everyone walked away though, that’s the most important thing.

 

Ya know, I'm in my 60's.
Never been arrested.
Never had a ticket.
Never had a DUI.
Never had an accident that was my fault ( knock wood ).

It's not that difficult. It boggles the mind that people are so careless.
Probably on their phone when it happened.

Glad you and yours are ok and I hope it all works out well for you from here out in regards to the truck.

 

How many airbags were deployed? Looks like the crumple zone worked well. Glad you guys have no major injuries. Did the other people involved get hurt?

 

whoa I know that exact intersection, rode my bike thru there on Friday. Glad u guys r ok. make sure you both r ok, then in good time check the frame of the truck. Hope the other party has insurance. that really sucks bro, but it could have been worse, you'll get thru it.

All the airbags went off! Saved us from severe injuries. The other sole drive was okay, better than us.

Holy cow look at those airbags. Glad you are ok OP!!! As others have said, you can always get another truck but not another life.

I'm going to go with total.

EDIT: And now I see how the driver's side "A" pillar cover looks after airbag deployment. IMO I'm glad you didn't have that KTJO handle there, it might have become a projectile. Yikes!!

 

it will cost More to replace the Air Bags that to fix the sheet metal

I would hope for totaled - never the same after an accident/fix. Take the money and start over.

 

The passenger side had a handle though and looks like it deployed ok.

Glad to hear that you're okay. It's scary to watch how people drive these days. In a hurry, weaving traffic, cell phone in hand, etc.
