Possible to wire 2020 bed lights to OEM switch in 2017 Ac without either?

Willing to cut holes in the bed for the new rectangle lights. I know there is a kit for 16-17 but I like the flush Mount. I'm not necessarily interested in using the components that are already there but likely just splicing into the 2020 lights

 

I would think it's possible, tapping into the dome or bed light circuit

 

You could use the wiring from a 2017 bed light kit and the lights from a 2020. Probably not the cheapest solution but it would work.
