Maybe an alternative location could be under the rear seats in the small container area. The bottle jack may need to be moved, the plastic taken out/replaced for heat resistant material?

Putting the final touches on the compressor mount. Hoping to get a small batch of final prototypes out in the next 5 weeks.

Cool idea. I feel like a heat shield above the compressor is 100% required to keep from melting any of the wires that run under the seats area

definitely a reall cool mounting spot but those things get so hot when they are running even with a heat shield I would be weary of electronics and plastics around that.

We are definitely paying close attention to that and have provisions for a heat shield.

Absolutely, we are looking into a solution or two to alleviate that concern.

Keep the feedback coming, we want to build the best compressor mount possible.

So here is a idea for cooling the compressor.

I see you have vent cutouts for the floor vents, perhaps making a curved duct thats hinged. When the pump is not in use, the user can flip the so it blows the air to the back seat, but when they turn on the compressor, they can just flip the duct over on its hinge and it blows air back under the seat at the compressor.

Most people I would assume have their trucks running while using the compressor, so might as well cool it with the AC system.

A little more about the design, it would be a 1/4 of a circle, there would be a hole in the end of the triangle parts. This would make it not interfere with the vents in normal operation, but if you flipped it over it would direct the air under the seat at the compressor. It could be held in place by small magnets so it doesnt flop around

In final testing now, should have a few test units available soon.

    edit

*Single ARB or Viair will require front Seat Jackers and at least .75" of rear Seat Jackers.

**Dual ARB will require front Seat Jackers and 1.25" of rear Seat Jackers.

For those that were interested, these are available, For Sale thread.

    Regarding concerns of heat....

Most automotive wiring is rated for above 250 degrees for many continuous hours. The ViAir and ARB are thermally protected right around 160-200 degrees to prevent their internal heat from damaging anything as well as limiting exterior heat. So as long as the installer has confirmed all wires are secured out of the way, the risk is extremely low.

Did that heat shield ever get made?

Not yet. It will be a simple piece of aluminum (14 inches by 17 inches) with 4 holes and some stainless hardware. If you already have the under seat compressor kit and are looking to add the heat shield, I'd swing by the hardware store or metal supply shop and pickup a 24 inch by 24 inch sheet of aluminum.

    Hope that helps,
