Looking to upgrade my stock battery to an AGM battery I know there is a dual battery option not wanting to break the bank on that kind of setup wondering what everyone's thoughts were on what group to go with looking into 27 and 31.

I went 27F because they are stupid heavy and figured any weight saving is welcomed. I read stories of them causing cracking underneath. As far as how it's treating me, it powers my 60L fridge and accessories just fine. Gone around 3 days without starting the truck in 80 degree weather and never had to turn the truck on due to low voltage. Do note that youre going to have to bump up the charge voltage as AGMs need higher voltage to charge fully. I had to get this done via a tune as it's controlled through the ECU but I believe for a 2nd gen you can get some piece of hardware that will do this for you. There is a thread on this. Ill try to find it.

Awesome write up you sent me curious on what you use for plug in source for your fridge freezer. I have blue sea through my company and they offer a 12v plug in system which is killer.

make sure you check out the northstar voltage booster thread. I went with the ford diode from I think mouser electronic parts and its been fine ever since. Battery is getting the voltage charge it needs and everything is good.

    Never enough
I 2nd this option. Got basically the exact same setup. Northstar 27F battery, plugs cut into the cubby in the truck bed, powers my fridge with no issues. Definitely get the voltage booster. I found mine on ebay. Works great!
