Does anyone know why my truck whistles when I am climbing a hill or going down a hill or at certain load it will occasionally whistle and I don't think from air blowing over the frame or the skid plate because it doesn't change with strong wind gusts. But I have noticed the A/C tends to get a bit cooler when it whistles. But I've turned the A/C off in the past and it will still continue to whistle just not as loud and sometimes it will whistle when I have never turned the A/C on at all on that drive.

It’s probably just in a good mood, whistling while it works.

Mine does this too. Reading some of the posts on here it sounds like it might be the a/c vent valve. I’ve honestly just been ignoring it.

Same But I would think Toyota would've done something about it considering how noticeable it is.

Check post #17 in the link below. It has links to some possibilities. I have a 2017 and the lower control arms have holes in them that will whistle at certain times. It doesn’t happen often enough for me to care. I heard Toyota may have started putting plugs in them a few years ago, but it’s easy to check to see if you have them.

Yeah that’s a fair point. I might bring it up at the dealer when I take it in for its first service. It seems like it’s becoming less frequent or I just don’t pay attention.

    Thanks @wilcam47
So the only thing that’s different between this and the higlander referenced in that forum post is that, if I’m reading correctly, the Highlander whistle only happens at highway speeds.

Where as the Tacoma noise is only under load for 3 seconds or so. I found that if you let off the gas right when it happens the noise stops.

if it was the same as the Highlander the noise would continue because of the wind flowing through that hood seal.

OP sounds like a tube, kinda weird. Id try some painters tape on the front of the hood and grill

I saw one about mirror seal, if they opened the window it stopped.

    A few.
I noticed it on my 2019 pretty much from day one even when going slow,5-10 mph, through a parking lot. Using high octane fuel was the only thing to eliminate or at least lessen it. Thats actually what made me try the 93 octane fuel originally
