    All,

Like most of you I have a Tacoma. I am on the road in NC quite a bit and I run a GMRS radio (yeah, I paid the $70 for a license) in my truck. Unlike CB, GMRS doesn't really have a guard channel and I was thinking maybe if you run a GMRS and drive in NC, maybe we could have an informal guard channel. I'm suggesting channel 16. 16 is out of the low power band or shared FRS band so it gets full power in a handheld or vehicle system.

I searched for GMRS (got a lot of radio and antenna mount threads, no use threads) but if you know of one please post it here. No need to have duplicates. If there is an NC GMRS guard channel already set up, please post it here.

    Thanks,

    Michael
