I believe the case was for 10. I was surprised when I opened the box and saw a bag a washers as well. If I couldn't get a hold of OEM, I would not have a problem using WIX. I work as a fleet mechanic and we use WIX primarily and the vehicles are used hard. I usually buy OEM filters if their price isn't that far from aftermarket.

Don't pretty much all of the non-OEM filters say that they "meet or exceed OEM specifications"? If this is really true, then does it really matter which one you buy?

O’Reilly’s keeps the OEM in stock if you need one in a pinch. At least my local store had them, and I think the price wasn’t terrible.

Except what the video is showing are not at all the filters I received. That's exactly why I don't order from the cheapest option. Amazon is the new sleezbay and unless you're buying from the dealer, there's a risk you're not getting a genuine product.

Agreed its well known there are fakes on Amazon and Fleebay. That doesn't mean every seller is bad though.. The youtuber car care nut did a video on that not long ago. I will stick with OEM from walmart or a dealership or just go to Napa and get the ones WIX makes under their name or the Napa gold name.

I've been having trouble sleeping lately, tossing and turning wondering what brand of oil filter random Tacoma owners are buying.
Although, in the big scheme who cares. If you aren't buying the same brand I use, you should probably just haul your truck to the dump now and save yourself the humiliation later.

You are ignoring an even bigger problem....what brand of oil is flowing through that filter? Hmmm??

I switched to the Mobil 1 extended guard that is good for 1 year or 20k and only change it when I hit 20k. It’s nice not having to change it as often even when I change the oil.
But before that I ran the OEM for years and several other Toyota’s and never had an issue.

I order mine online from a local dealership, 10 to a case and I think it was just under $50 with shipping.
