    Hi all,

Had a little adventure yesterday during which my left rear tire and wheel decided it no longer wanted to remain attached to the vehicle. Needless to say, to the shop it went. While I'm having the brake bits/hub/whatever fixed, I thought it might be time for that lift kit I've been wanting.

I'd like some recommendations for a 2" suspension lift that will give me acceptable performance without breaking the bank (sub-2K in an ideal world.)

Most of my off-road driving is on sand, and I mainly want the lift so that I can run 33s, and I do quite a lot of long-distance highway travel. That said, I occasionally venture up to NH for some light-moderate wheeling, so I definitely don't want a spacer lift or something that is going to fall apart. Plz help.

It takes a little more than just a lift to clear 33's without rubbing. I had a set of 5100's that were a decent starting point in suspension mods and enjoyed them. Co-worker ran the Eibach pro kit and his truck rode quite a bit better than mine. I ended up trying the Eibach springs on my 5100's and think the Eibach spring and shock combo still rode better. Depending upon local labor rates someone posted the other day a quote for 5100's installed around $1300 and I think just over $2k for Bilstein 6112's. Product availability is an issue so sometimes it's worth seeing what you can actually find and and going from there.

In what way did the Eibach kit ride better? Thank you for the reply, it is exactly the sort of information I'm looking for.

Running 5100s and OME springs on mine. Decent lift for a great price if you don't want to break the bank.

Probably would guess the Eibach rode smoother than the 5100s. Very easy install if you want to do them yourself

A 2" lift paired with caster-correcting UCAs will likely get the job done for you. Perhaps more important than getting a little more clearance is being able to adjust your caster somewhere around 3.7-4* which will require new UCAs. SPC, Icon, TC, DK, JBA...take your pick just get something with high caster which will move your wheel forward in the wheel well. I've got 33's on my truck with no CMC and no rubbing with 1.5" lift on a Pro model.

Small bumps in the road the eibach were smoother, it seemed like it took a bigger hit to get the bilstein setup to move. Pretty sure it all came down to the shock valving between the 2. 5100's have a great reputation on this forum and are a very inexpensive option to lift the truck but for not much more money I think there are better options.

Any adjustable uca is ideal. You want to be able to move the lower control arm forward to gain tire clearance and caster. I'm a fan of SPC's since you can easily adjust camber and caster with them. I did an alignment on a 2nd gen Monday night and just by adjusting the rear cams we added 2 degrees of caster and gained an inch of clearance at the cab mount without any changes at the SPC uca. The front cams were seized so we are going to address it later with new control arms, cams and cam tab gussets. Caster alone isn't the magic cure all for rubbing, you can get 3-4 degrees of caster with many different setups and have varying clearances in the fender well. If the lower control arm cams aren't adjusted to move the wheel forward you can actually decrease clearance using a high caster uca to get to get to 3-4 degrees caster.
