Relocating Dash USB Port

    Was spoiled with my last HU and wireless CarPlay. With the Qi charger, it's a must have with my new 2021. Looking to keep the factory HU for now. I found this thread for a wireless adaptor but my OCD kicked in. I would rather have the thing live in the glove box or console. Basically what I'm trying to do is either move the data port to the glove box or, swap the dash and console port. Has anyone done either and can provide tips, links?

    Easiest solution would be to just pop the USB portion out of the dash and reconnect it inside the dash, with an extension route and over to the glove box. Then just buy a switch blank to go in its spot.

    Did that myself, but good luck finding a switch blank for that spot as they don't make one.

    What did you end up doing and what extension did you use? I know that CarPlay can be a little fickle when it comes to connections.

    Originally I popped it inside and plugged my lightning cable into it in the glovebox so it was all hidden. But there was no blank to fill the hole, so I bought a Carlinkit 2 wireless thing and it works great. Just hate seeing the fucking wire.

    There was a thread at one point that said the stock wiring was just long enough to route to the glove box, but I can't find the thread.
