Have a 2016 and I thought this was just the blade going bad so I replaced it and cleaned the windshield. No go. I then turned the wipers on with the blades off the window in the up position and the loud squeak still happens. I sprayed some WD40 into the area where the wiper nut is and around it after cleaning out everything around it but still a very loud squeak! Any ideas what else to do? This noise is extremely loud and awful when using the wipers.

First try cleaning the windshield. Use a razor blade or steel wool and glass cleaner. If that doesn’t work you can try some rain x or very light coat of wax on the windshield and see if it improves.

It’s making the noise when the blade is up, the wipers aren’t even touching it’s all coming from the mechanism itself.

There are bushings in the wiper transmission that need to be greased. As stated, white lithium grease has worked best for me too. Transmission sits under the cowl panel.

Might have to pull the cowl and check the linkage

so popped the cowl off on the driver side and sprayed the heck out of all the moving parts where the sound seems to be coming from still nothing. Had the wiper blades off entirely to get down there.

Wiper blade squeak comes from incorrect-poor contact pressure between the wiper and the glass.

Did you just replace the wiper insert or the whole blade assembly? If you replaced just the wiper insert I would suggest replacing the complete wiper blade assembly.
