Hey ya'll I've lurked for a while and finally made an account for this... I bought a remote start kit for my 2017 taco from a guy on CL who said he never got around to installing it. It looked untouched, wires had no markings and were all the same length, etc. I installed it using the included instructions as well as the video @nickj718 made (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2016-2017-diy-remote-start.465319/) as this kit was his design. I used military splices for everything and the unit seems to start fine. When I do the steps for "programing" (hitting the button twice) the light turns orange instead of red. I cannot find anyone else having this issue on the forums. I read the manual for the DEI box itself and it says that it means "Transponder functions were skipped" and to fix do a soft reset and re program. I did this according to their instructions and it behaved as described but it did not fix the problem. KB VOODOO has given me the cold shoulder, saying they will not offer any support and have no documentation or anyone who even knows anything about it. I messaged the original creator @nickj718 but he has not been "seen" since last November. The truck still starts but I am at a loss of how to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Just so we are on the same page the module should start with a solid red light. Then you press the push start button twice and it should switch to a solid orange light. You then press the push start button once more to turn it back off, and then twice more to turn it back on. It should then go to green and back off. In your case you are saying the second time it still stays orange? Anything else electrical installed (radio, anything plugged into the OBD port, etc) in the vehicle? I would double check your tan and tan/black wires for the CAN also.

Well I went back and tried your sequence, which mind you, was not on the written instructions from voodoo nor directed nor the video. It worked. I am dumfounded and grateful. Thank you.
