I was wondering if anyone has a shell and if the weight effected the ride height of the back end ? Thx

Usually drops rear 1/2" to 3/4" that's what it did on my 2nd gen. Heard the same on 3rd gen's

I'm making an educated guess and saying my cap weighs 180 lbs. If the truck sits any lower I can't tell it, but the cap has been on there 14 years. I did get my rear springs replaced at just under 200,000 miles as part of the recall, but I never noted any sag with the old springs. It may have been 1/2" but I simply didn't measure and couldn't detect any difference by looking at it

Same here...about 1/2 inch. Installed an ARE REVO CX cap and truck lost the factory “rake”. So I installed Timbren Tortun4’s.... not Tortun4L’s ...I knew if the cap made it droop, a fully loaded truck/cap would droop more. I put 2 large diameter washers on the base and used a longer bolt than stock when I installed them.... then we loaded the truck and cap to the gills and moved my kid back to college. Truck did not squat at all and was safe and stable to drive. In my opinion the ride is the same but speed bumps, large expansion joints etc. are definitely more pronounced. And if you are any more than a casual off-roader I would not recommend because you will lose rear axle articulation.

I lost factory rake, made it more level which I don’t like. Any weight after and your sagging.

installed hs 3 leaf progressive aal to get my factory (it’s slightly more) rake then sumosprings to prevent/limit sag when loaded or towing.

welcome to the shell club brother! Of course You will loose some height on rear, it depends on extra load in your bed. I have Leer XQ shell, + 200 pounds of tools in my bed every day, so my rear sag was pretty visible. I went with Air Lift airbags and it solved my problem! 59561 kit will help you!
