Looked around but didn’t see any similar threads on a dent like this.

Does anyone have experience or know if it’s possible to pop these dents out by removing the headliner? Previous owner backed into something

From what I've seen on other write ups of people insulating their headliner and such, that particular area that you have dented is reinforced with formed sheet metal and some plastic parts behind it, so it might not be so easy to get behind it and dress the dent out without getting into more work.

Consider hiding it under a roof rack.

or potentially both unbending it and putting a roof rack

maybe PDR can fix it including with headliner removal to access it from the other side
it might be thin sheet metal
either that or cutting it off to weld on a new panel
sounds like something that could be obtained from a junkyard for cheap. A Tacoma with an intact roof damaged elsewhere such as a front or rear end collision. To cut as much off as needed from the donor with a sawzall, final cut/trim, and weld on swap

looks bowed in further in the middle too like someone jumped on it

Unless you want to spend a LOT of dough to "fix" it - it won't just "pop" out, just live with it. Hope you bought it right.

Just read your thread on your 4x4 conversion much respect especially since your a novice to mechanical work. I'm sure you'll figure something with the roof. Good luck

That whole roof panel is deformed from front to back. That said, I don't know of many PDR guys who would even want to attempt fixing it since there's no true surface anywhere on it. Even removing the headliner isn't going to help much.

Thank you all for the replies. I think I may save the $$ here and go with a rack or a canopy shell in the back.

In any case I’ll update this thread on how it looks after:thumbsup:
