    Update May 2023:
The leading shop that I’ve worked with has been Nylund’s in Englewood.

    Previous update 2021:
Thanks for the recommendations, I'm moving forward NAME REDACTED SINCE THE TRUCK IS GOING BACK FOR A BIG LIST OF ISSUES. I'll update the thread once this hellish process has been completed with the insurance company.

I'm looking for high quality body shop recommendations. I have full coverage and they said I could take it to the shop of my choice. This truck is worth a lot in this market, so I'm not looking for a cheap fix with bondo and such.

@Kerbouchard! How was the experience? What body shop did you go to? Would you recommend them?

@5280 What was your experience with Chatfield Auto Body? Was it good? Were they professional? Would you recommend them or were there any issues?

Maybe @Wulf can ping Mike to confirm this is still a recommendation.. Mike won't see this post... :anonymous:

If money is no object then I'd suggest Coach Auto Body in Boulder. I'm sure you're familiar with it.

My friend who owns an auto shop only recommends Coach for auto body work and it's where he brings his personal vehicles including his '65 Impala show car.

I am hoping money is no object since State Farm said "take it to the shop of your choice". I've been paying out the ars for full coverage since I was 16 and have never made a claim or had an accident.

Hi Jason. I think Chatfield did a good job with the paint work, although I did have to bring my truck back to have a door re-done after I noticed a small blemish. I got frustrated with waiting on them to put it all back together; they had to order parts for the door handles/locks and I ended up getting the parts from them and fixing myself. I think they just have too many jobs going and don’t stay on top of it. The paint looks great, though, and I wouldn’t rule out using them again. You’re welcome to have a look at my truck if you’d like.

This is pretty much standard practice, if not law. You can even have the shop do all the legit estimates, take the insurance check, and do the repair work yourself. It's what I did for my bumper when I got rear ended

I used Vintage Autoworks & Collision down in Centennial. It's on the corner of Dry Creek and Broadway. The first time I used them they repainted by Outback and did some bodywork. The process was quick and painless--they worked efficiently with insurance. I was happy with the experience. When I crushed my taco a few years ago I didn't have as good an experience. The work ended up being good. They fixed it cleanly and did a good job paint matching/retexturing, but it took forever. A few weeks in I called to get an update and they hadn't even ordered the parts yet. Once they got the right parts it was another week or two before they started working on it.

In total I think they had my truck for almost 6 weeks. Insurance coverage on the rental ran out. It was annoying. Overall the work wasn't bad, but if/when I need bodywork again I'll probably go somewhere else.

Keep the recommendations coming. I have a police report filed (they send you to the CO Department of Revenue - DMV to file online if you meet certain requirements, like a hit and run) and an insurance claim started.

I'm starting to get quotes this week and would like some more personal recommendations.

Just adding to @JasonLee discussion… the work on my truck was out of pocket, not insurance.

The only out of pocket I am hoping to have to pay is the $500 deductible, so seeing that I’m paying $500 and a ton of time for someone else’s f*** up, I’m getting high quality work done.

All these years of having full coverage is “paying off”.

First estimate is in. $10,029.87. This excludes mechanical inspection and potential work.

Good thing the value of these has skyrocketed. A lesser truck would be considered totaled

Also at these prices you will most likely have to deal with an in person adjuster after the shop estimate is submitted. They will verify the work/prices and may counter what will be covered

If you're in Fort Collins there is Artistic Auto Body at Summit View and Mulberry. My old guitar instructor Chris used to work there, still might, I'd trust that guy with any vehicle or guitar I have. I have more guitars than cars, and his work is still present on a few of my old faithful instruments.

If you call them, ask for "some Polish guy named Chris" and tell him an old student sent you. For a while they had the city's contract to maintain the ambulance fleet in some capacity, they were not able to take on much extra work at the time but that was a while ago.

Also, sorry about your ride, that's real shitty. I drove my Subaru for a few years with "living in Denver" hit and run damages.

I suffered some hail damage from last week’s storms. Colorado Coach gave me 3 PDR references. Anyone have experience with any of these?

    Dents By Hand
    Golden Hammer PDR
    Rogers Dent

Sorry to piggyback the thread, Jason.

No worries, hopefully I won't have to deal with hail, but this is good to know. I edited the thread title to add "PDR" so this thread can continue to be useful.

I have an appointment with Euro Cars here in the Springs on Thursday for the asshat that rear ended me in my Land Cruiser. They supposedly handle the Porsche's, BMW's and Tesla's. I know you're in the Denver area, but just posting for possible future members looking for places in Springs.

I’ve been dealing with Seth at Dents by Hand.

So far, really great communication and willingness to work with my insurance on my behalf. I haven’t picked the truck up yet but they seem quite confident in their ability to save it despite what they describe as “large and stretched” dents all over the hood and roof.

I’ll post some before and after pics when I get the truck back, hopefully by the end of the week.
