Anyone else done Pomeroy recently? I went last Friday, and it seemed considerably rougher than it has the past 4 years. Still easily doable, just rougher than I recall

I've gotten mixed information on North Twin Cone. Is there still access to the top? I saw a video done in 2021 that showed travel all the way to the top, just not sure when the actual footage was taken. Don't want to make the trip and find out I can only go up 5 miles. Thanks for any info.

As always, these social/subscription sites are not authoritative. Call the land manager for final word on the official/legal information.

    Or look at the MVUM.
    https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/psicc/maps-pubs/

Looks to be closed “at the switchbacks” and you have to use human power to get to the top.

Last I heard, there is not a physical barrier to keep you from proceeding beyond the current legal end of the road/trail/route and reaching the top. But, I haven't looked into it in some time. I'd expect it to be on TrailsOffroad, if there were.

Not open to the top... if there's a trail to the top, it's not legal. I would not be surprised if some bypassed up there illegally... I'd put money on sxs if so...

Planning on heading up this Thursday, any other info besides being a bit rougher then years past?
Going to take a few days exploring and camping with the dogs.

Saw that. Rough morning. Wonder if they rolled right there, or rolled down several switchbacks?

    Apparently it’s a bronco sport.

edit: "Deputies have learned that the women were driving up Bridal Veil Road and entered the one-way Black Bear Pass going the wrong way. The passenger told Deputies they did not see the sign indicating the beginning of the one way pass. After a couple of switchbacks they decided it was best to turn around. The passenger then stepped of the vehicle to help the driver navigate, and while backing up, two of the wheels went high enough on the embankment to cause the vehicle to begin to roll. The 2021 Ford Bronco rolled off the cliff an estimated 400 feet, ejecting the driver, the dog, and the vehicle's engine before coming to a stop."

I went down BBP a couple of weeks ago and hit the spot above the steps where people usually flip and saw a group filming a YouTube “trail guide”. The guy was filming while spotting a Jeep Trailhawk and a stock 4Runner. Took them super uphill passenger side with a hard turn down driver. Watched both of them come within a whisper of flipping. It was scary shit. Back tires up and bobbing.

I swear they ought to throw a gatekeeper obstacle at the start of that trail.
