The shop want to charge me about 900 for a new rack. I hope to be at about 100 for all the parts I will do.

Wasnt my inner tie rod but it needed to be replaced. Looks like my control arm bushing are bad and the ball joint. Cant tell for sure but that's most likely the issue. Stressed for a bit on what my next plan of action was going to be but finally decided to get the djm control arms with the balls already in. I should have a whole new front end by the time I finish. Tried to do the outer tie rod but they sold me the wrong one. I really didnt want to lower my truck but looks like I'm going lower on the front. Now. Was the cheapest option for me. I will be doing coil overs with the new top hat from strictly street when I can.

Will also be swapping to the 4x4 leaf once I find some urethane bushing to swap in. Hope that gets it sitting pretty with some better handling.

This is just the front lowered on djm control arms. There is a half inch lean to my truck with the passenger side sitting lower. I also feel as if my sway bar is bent. It comes pretty close to the shock on the drivers side.

They said they maxed out the adjustments on the passenger side.

I'm feeling like I'm dealing with a blown head gasket. Had a silica in the oil pan and seems to run as if its misfireing Stutters on acceleration.

Reading through all the pages and saw that noone mentioned the tow hitch. You can find the Toyota tow hitch for fairly cheap. Toyota's hitch is actually a class IV hitch that they label as class III since none of the Tacomas are even rated for class IV. Serves actually dual purpose here. First is that it adds a tiny bit more weight to the rear (helps stick to the ground with an empty bed). Second, it stiffens up the rear a bit (at least I feel like it did mine) since the hitch replaces the brackets for the bumper reinforcement to basically another crossmember that's reinforced. I also did the Total Chaos bed reinforcements to further stiffen up the rear so the bed doesn't sway in sharper turns.

If you haven't lowered your truck, you can also get ahold of the Tacoma 4x4 leafs to drop the rear about 1-1.5" depending on the how it settles. Also a cheap mod that has a higher spring rate than the stock X-Runner leafs.

Doing the headers as I am sure I ruined my cats from running to rich with a misfire in all cylinders after a trip to west Texas and no way to fix it after getting most of the way there. 20210314_122008.jpg
