To mount a scope/red dot you need to change out the top strap/rail, California compliant doesn't come with a scope style mount. I think the best is the Tactical Solutions (Tacsol), they make 2, one with a rear sight and one without. Your choice but I think having the option for the rear is the way to go. Shop around you can find them.

    https://tacticalsol.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=1366871

There are many, many red dot type sights, styles and prices available that will mount up to that top rail. Just research and be prepared to fall down a deeper rabbit hole than with Tacoma's. You don't have to spend a lot to get a functional unit.

It also has a: https://www.tandemkross.com/Eagles-Talon-Extractor-for-Browning®-Buck-Mark_p_253.html not necessary and a https://striplincustom.com/product/eliminator-browning-buckmark-recoil-guide-rod/ again not necessary.

Way more information than you ever need to know about Buckmark's here:

    Have fun!!

the Contour model (also CA compliant) further complicates things by having Weaver style rails. dunno. i havent dove in that deep. but my eyesight is getting weaker especially in dimly lit gun ranges. a red dot would change everything. :) one day.

Wanted to circle back. After 1000 problem free rounds through the Buckmark we decided to step it up and brought this home. Hopefully hitting the range this weekend.

While the Ruger 22/45's are almost impossible to find lately, they are an awesome gun. Super accurate and seem to eat just about anything you feed them.
