RSI Smart Cap

Dang seems like a lot of work. Maybe ill buy that rack off you and you can help me install? Haha

 

Family and I took our RSI EvoA Adventure cap on camping duty in the Canadian Rockies in Banff, Alberta Canada. We loved it, funny thing is that we found ourselves checking other Tacoma trucks that might have an RSI but not one. We did get a few looks from passers-by's. A ton of Tacoma trucks with typical fiberglass variety shells but not one RSI, nevermind an EvoA Adventure. One Tundra guy gave us thumbs up!

Looks great!, you probably saw ours too. Anyway, I'm surprised that RSI dropped the RSI logo, wonder why?!

 

I’m happy they toned it down. I obviously like stickers but not when things are over-branded. I’ve been considering de-badging the truck and topper.

 

I didn't realize that you had to buy the flatbed in addition to the canopy. My bad!

 

Yeah, entirely modular whih is a cool concept.

I really hope the EVO line gets a tailgate / full door replacement with that tire rack setup for the back.

 

Did you use the M8 RSI t-slot nuts in the cap tracks? Or did you use smaller ones to fit the 8020 corner brackets?

 

Do you guys know if Calirasied Molle Panel will fit with the RSI smart cap?

If you get the EVOa there is molly panels on the inside of both side panels.

 

Anyone got a UptopOverland Rack on the RSI? I assume it’s the same design and that it will hit when the door is opened.

 

i dont have one, but i thought the bravo was narrower than the alpha

 

Can you take a picture so I can visualize the conflict with a longer bolt?

 

Probably the nicest camper shell/ bedcap. Just wish it didn’t sit higher than the top of the truck cab.

 

The caps came with push pins to put them in and have held up great since i put them in. No issues

 

To those who ran accessory lights on a roof rack (chase lights or scene lights), how did you route your wires?

 

I routed mine up the middle between the back window and canopy. Then zip tied the wires as I ran them back to the rear of the prinsu rack.

I’ve read most of the recent posts 5-10+ pages back and skipped through a bunch.

for those that did their own install… what things would you have done differently (whether it was not in the instruction or tips etc), anything that you remember standing out that would of made things smoother or cleaner?
