    A good friend of mine has a 2013 Tacoma. The screen on the radio shattered. What is the cheapest option for installing a stock Toyota radio in it? He heard it would need programmed etc.. is that true?

    Check Youtube. You can buy a replacement touch screen on Amazon for about $18 and replace it yourself. I just did this two weeks ago on my daughter's Corolla and one of the screen options on Amazon was a replacement for my 2014 Tacoma as well.
    Look up the vids, there are a couple of good ones and this can be done with minimal small hand tools.

    When I bought this, the page had a 'select' option that also showed one for the Tacoma. When I rechecked the link, it looked like it might for the Corolla only.
    IF YOU DO THIS, PLEASE VERIFY THAT THE REPLACEMENT PART IS SPECIFIED FOR THE TACOMA!!!!

    I found one that will work but we aren't sure if the digitizer or the LCD is broke. We think it's the LCD, not really sure how to tell.

    I dont think buying the digitizer online is good enough. Looks like the LCD is cracked. Not sure...
