Hey everyone - Looking for a remote spot in the Ouachita Nat'l Forest. I've seen a few where the pic is overlooking a river...but can't find the spot.

Any help is appreciated (and if you want to join, I'm heading up this weekend).

    Thanks!

Unfortunately, the main spot is now privately owned and gated.

That's neat. I've been trying to find sites for dispersed camping. So far just seeing campground options.

My experience from CO is to just get out and explore 4wd trails in the high country. Arkansas seems a bit different in that the roads/trails aren't as nicely documented.

So as of right now, that spot on my previous post is where I'm headed. So if any random internet friends with my same truck want to hang out, just send me message!

The Buffalo River has many places to camp on a gravel bar, but it's in a park so park rules, like no glass.

Back a bit early. Lots to explore in this area. I arrived to the above spot by about 4pm and it was already occupied. So I set up down the road a bit...was a bit warmer than I was hoping but slept pretty well overall.

I ended up exploring most of the fire roads around Lake Winona, ended up somewhere in which the trail appeared to end in a severely washed out road. So with limited cell service and not a person in sight I headed back.

Would be worth going back again (with at least one other vehicle).
