Was looking at the Super Pacific site today trying to figure out how they attached the Yakima cross bars to the top T-track. Does anyone know if this is a custom fab, or something that's commercially available? My Google searches are coming up empty

So I started doing some prep for the X1. Sold my snugtop topper and popped the bed rail trim off - that trim is both insanely flimsy and supported by little plastic ribs that rubbed down to bare metal over most of the bed tops just from the fiberglass topper. About half of the ribs were partially folded over as well. I ordered the KB voodoo tops, I'll post photos when I install those.

I have a strong suspicion that the loosening fasteners people have been experiencing is relating to the X1 crushing the trim. If you already have an X1 I recommend pulling it off, popping the trim up and seeing for yourself.

    Noticed your profile says 2015SR5.
Is this issue particular to the 2nd gen only or affects 1st/3rd also?
Asking b/c heading to install soon and prepping my 3rd gen.

Wow, I feel dumb- I had seen the Landing Pads but thought they were for specific vehicle manufacturers. Looks like you can get ones for generic tracks too. Somehow just now finding this helpdesk article for the first time. Thank you!!

I'm pretty sure most of the gen2 people that have had problems with the brackets have already replaced the bed rail caps. I have the stock ones, but if you replace them, SP has to put the starboard spacer along the front of the bed. I'm not sure which is better at this point.

I just pulled my bed rails to seal underneath.. and I saw the same thing @Hikerbox. I've had a rack and RTT on it for 5+ years. I wasn't too concerned tho.. and like others said.. I preferred to keep the stock rails for a couple reasons.

Should be 2gen as our bedrails are 3/4” high where as the 3gen isent as thick for the caps as the bed sides where designed differently.

This is why i swapped mine out cause i just dont trust them and i have crushed 2 oem sets on my 2gen with my previous snug top and Diamond back cover.

tacomeg is correct if you go this route make sure you let SP know cause you will need the starboard spacer all around on the x1 based on there mounts so it works. I worked with spencer on this as a couple others with second gens either swapped or already had replacement metal caps before the X1. I been happy this fare and i have gone on some decent trails here in colorado with no major movement. Granted this topic has been discussed a lot. The factory rails do work i personal just don't like them so i spent the time and money swapping them out. Was also going with what a lot of 2gen vagabond owners who wheel a-lot did. Personal preference based on your build out and plans!

Mine stock bedrail caps were smashed too when I took off my snugtop canopy. The heat from the sun naturally put it back to shape lol

Kind of on the topic of bedrail caps: what(if anything) are owners using to reinforce the bed?

I've got a Summit on order and it's weight is pretty similar to Super Pacific(340#ish). I can't find the Total Chaos ones for 3rd gen anywhere. Are the knock-offs as good?

PS. No hate for Super Pacific at all. In fact, I enjoy reading this thread as it gets me excited for my own camper! Definitely some nice work

I had @ghostship weld me a set. They are awesome and fit perfect. I wanted a low profile set and Sergio did an awesome job.

DRT fabrication makes some as well. I prefer the full height ones tho like the TC's I have.

I have the TC as well for the reinforcement. I say majority of the ones being offer are decent if you cant find a TC.

The base feet for Thule or Yakima work. You need one that goes in a track. I have my old Thule on at the moment. No mods needed

Also 3rd fennel bed sides are 1” taller that’s where the main diff I think is happening. We don’t have the area they designed those for and out mounts collapse.
