I know, I know this is a Tacoma forum! But fellow Taco lovers, I am really at my end and perplexed as to how to digest my experience with this company and would appreciate any help that could be offered.

I will keep this short as possible but I am sincerely asking for help. I have a 2016 Ford Focus SE Hatchback. It's my young sons to and from college commuting car. I try and stay on top of all my family's motorcade maintenance this one included. So I'm making ready for a considerable preventive maintenance effort with a parts list for the Focus.

While shopping for parts and prices I run upon a company called Fordpartsgiant. I give them a reasonable once over and they look pretty sound and have what I need at competitive pricing so I put together an order. My order consisted of only two belts and a new outside of the door keypad. (If you know Ford products, this allows for you to gain access to the cab without keys or key fob etc).

So all is well and my order arrives with the belts but in place of the keypad, I find some unrecognizable large piece of plastic with some sort of wiring attached. Disappointing but I consider myself a reasonable guy so I begin the return or exchange process, this is a $100 plus dollar part BTW.

So I call the number they supply and a lady answers and I find that she is not actually part of the company but an answering service. She takes my information and I wait for a callback. Three days later I follow up with a repeat of the first call. This goes on about four times before I decide to start an email effort.

Well, here I am over three months later with at least 12 email exchanges, sending I don't know how many pics from how many ways all but pleading with them to help but no door keypad and no refund.

Each time I reach out for help there is a three or four word return email with an excuse of why something I have not done right want allow them to process my return. It has become clear to me that they have been intenchally wasting my time this whole time hoping I will donate my money and just go away. And that they never intended to return my money or replace my order with the correct part.

So in my last exchange, I replied to their request and resent the photo of the part and their shipping label with an added note. It read; I don't know what else to do to try and accommodate you. Trying to resolve this matter has turned into a full time job and I just want my money back or the correct part. Do I have to speak to legal counsel to get you guys to do the right thing? If you do not return my money at this final request I will at the least have to file a BBB grievance against your company.

Well, I just opened their reply and it read; Due to your last letter we are canceling your ability to return your part. WTH!!!

So I ask you, Brother Tacomeins, what resource does one have to help against such obvious scammers? Their company looks to be well established and they have great reviews. Do I just have a rogue employee making himself lunch table entertainment talk with his friends as they update each other on "that guy that we shipped the wrong part to"? hehehehehehe???

I know it is only $120.00, but to realize that I have been strung along all this time and that they never intended to refund or make right the order really tics me off. Does anyone know the best way to warn others of a company like this or get vindication etc?

Thank you, I actually just started this process at the advice of another member a few moments ago. It looks like it is headed in a good direction.

My banker tells me that there shouldn't be any issues with having this refund. I must admit there is a certain amount of satisfaction in getting my money back and keeping the parts that belong to a bunch of scammer low life's.

But even with this, it doesn't even begin to compensate for the time, frustration, and worry these guys have caused. I may end up putting the part they sent on eBay as soon as I find out what the hell it is. LOL I'll keep everyone posted as to the outcome.

This is what they sent. Does anyone know what this is? I'm going to look it up by part number but I'm curious if anyone can ID it.

If you weren’t previously aware that you could pursue a credit card dispute as soon as they didn’t respond to your initial customer service inquiry, then that’s a good lesson for the future. This never should have gone on for three months.

    Your a

You're absolutely right. Though in this case, I may have lucked out. The hole (blind hog & acorn thing) you know. As the lady I spoke with at the bank offered that this actually worked in our favor in this case.

The way I understand it, they (the bank) have to perform an investigation where they allow the vendor the opportunity to do the right thing. She said that this can take considerable time as there is a liberal allowance for response and action.

She explained that with the string of related emails I have produced that I have already established this effort. And that this will allow them to forgo this formality in this case and refund my money right away. :headbang:SWEET JUSTICE!!!

    Peace, Love & Taco's

Awesome that you got your money back. But I think you would have anyway, two months ago.

Example: I ordered a new stove once online (sale!) and we needed it by a certain date. It arrived three days later than the latest date promised and I rejected delivery. We couldn’t afford to wait because we had family coming to stay with us, so we had gone and bought one locally. The online company wouldn’t refund us return freight and restock fee.

CC company dealt with it immediately. All I had to do was provide the email receipt with the latest shipping date, and the tracking info.

Yeah, I definitely did not handle it as aggressively as I should have. In my defence, I was under the impression that there were issues with my photos etc. for the first 5 or 6 email exchanges.

Admittedly, I'm not the most tech-savvy person when it comes to the in and outs of OS's or even being able to utilize forum resources like ours here. I am that country guy that likes to give the benefit of the doubt. This more than once comes at my own expense.
