I'm visiting Kentucky for a week with a friend and hoping to get in some off-roading and camping. Any can't miss trails that are safe for someone without sliders or a winch?

You might find some trails around Hollerwood. Go on the website and check it out.

Depends where in KY you'll be. Much more wheeling available from the central region all the way to the eastern borders. The off road parks should have decently maintained "easy" trails that you can take without much recovery gear or armor, but you should always be prepared. Plenty of times I've avoided muddy green trails by taking a blue (medium difficulty) or a black (more difficult) trail around them; this is very common at Rush Off Road in the NE part of our state.
