I lived my whole life in the upper Midwest, tornado/hail country and never had hail crack a windshield. They have all been from rocks flying up/debris hitting it on the road. Take the free replacements IMO. I have to get 2 of my vehicles done since moving to NC, for some reason my windshields hate this state LOL!!

I'd get glass coverage. Windshields with cameras are way more expensive than they used to be and if I remember correctly, it costs almost nothing to add to your policy.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
Yes, flying rocks or chunks of asphalt will get your glass.
Had a big piece of pavement get kicked up by a truck on I75 and bust through my grill once but usually glass gets it.

I will say, my USAA policy will repair glass at no cost. If they have to replace the glass, I will be responsible for the deductible. This is built into all USAA policies.

That's one reason I love ky. As long as you carry full coverage glass is covered with no deductible and doesn't go against your policy.

    Hey guys,
I'm considering moving to middle TN after I get out of the service here withing the next year, and while I've been doing less and less offroading with my truck I've been riding my dual sport a ton. Any fellas out there know of good riding? I know it won't be like Southern CA but I'll take anything. Thanks!

    I'm a huge fan of spicer non-greasable
    Spicer 5-1330X U-Joint Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DOI9GFK?_encoding=UTF8

As far as carrier bearing I'd say Spicer as well or oem but I'm no help on that as I have a single piece drive shaft

Just thought I would take a moment to introduce myself. I am a fellow 'Real' Tennessean. By 'real' I mean I was born and raised here. Grew up living in Middle TN in the Nashville area through the 80s and 90s.... Since 2001 I have been traveling the world and Country, living mostly on the west coast working and learning to live. sometimes the easy way and sometimes the hard way unfortunately. lol When I moved back, I could hardly recognize the place....
So anyways, I have recently moved back after about 20 years to be with my Family throughout my parents elderly years. I own 2 Tacomas, one is a 1st gen and the other a 2nd gen. Just thought I would say hello here, being new to TacomaWorld and all. Hope to learn more about my trucks on here, while trying not to throw every damn penny I own at them at the same time.
    Soooo, Hello and Goodnight =)

Knoxville driveline recommended spicer non-greasable as well and will do them pretty reasonably if you have time to remove your driveline and drop it off.

Yeah i had them do the carrier as well. I was pressed for time and honestly for the price I would have them do it again vs doing it myself next time. They are a spicer dealer and are competitive if you buy the ujoints from them. Still really happy with the Ranger spicer carrier I went with as well.
