Still don’t know why Toyota doesn’t put lights and hood struts on our trucks . Well to save money in production…
Any way this what i used
I had a $10 off coupon at harbor freight so I bought the roadshocks lights and i have to say there not bad quality wise. The lights come in a two pack for $29 but I only used one witch i think is plenty of light.
I came up with an idea to mount them with out drilling holes or self adhesive glue. So I bought these non markings magnets with machine bolts coming out of them. I took a chance on them for $14 bucks off Amazon and was very happy with there strength very strong. And i got lucky with the length of the bolt.after extending the wire i ran it down the center of the hood and around to the battery. Positive to positive and the ground to a pin switch i had laying around. Project turned out better than expected.
Here are some pics and the link to the magnets

    Nice job!

I'm sure it won't be a problem but keep an eye on where the wires can rub through and short. Did you run the switch for switched power or ground?

I put one on my old 77 nova, grounded one wire, the other I stuck a roach clip on and clipped it to close to the battery. When I needed it I clipped it to the positive battery terminal.

Looks great, I’ve been wanting to design a bracket to 3D print to hold similar lights. On my list lol

Cool idea... I like having a light under the hood as well. Sometimes it's just nice to have instead of having to try to dig around and find a flashlight or pull out your phone and try to pull up the camera and make that shine where you want it to go. So much easier to have both hands-free
