I'm just curious if Tundra owners suffer from Locker Envy. Do you guys get jealous of all the other truck owners having rear lockers while you dont?
I mean...doesn't it drive you crazy knowing that your truck isnt able to go to the same places as the other trucks purely because Toyota was too cheap/lazy to install a lousy locker? It would certainly drive me crazy lol. Thats the only reason why I opted for a Tacoma over a Tundra.

The truck is too big to fit on 95% of trails in my region. So it doesn't need a locker for what I will be using it for. I wouldn't buy a tundra for a trail truck, just doesn't make sense.

I've had 2 Tundra trucks and I would say the only complaint I had was the lack of a true LSD. Lockers are nice but they really don't help a whole lot on the street, unless the road is wet. You can buy a true LSD from Auburn and, I understand it will plug right in and play nice with the Tundra electronics. The Tacoma locker only works in low range so it really doesn't come into play, unless you spend a lot of time on trails. I just traded out of a Ford F250 and the locker was nice because you could lock it in 2WD while on a wet hill or if you need to scoot into traffic on wet roads. As I am not an off road expert, I never really understood why 4WD trucks, typically don't have a LSD from the factory. I once had a GMC 4x4 that had an open rear diff and that POS truck was embarrassing how easy it could get stuck in 2WD. I remember pulling into a friend's loose gravel driveway and having to engage 4WD just to get up to the house.....on flat ground.

You know you can install a locker yourself right, or pay someone to do it...

The only thing keeping Tundras from doing most of the trails Tacomas can do is their size

I agree with the guys above. Seems like most drive a Tundra to tow, haul, or do other work that a Tacoma can't handle. I doubt many people buy a Tundra if going off road is their primary concern, so they probably don't really miss the locker.

And adding an aftermarket locker that's a lot more reliable than the factory Tacoma locker isn't that big of a deal if a Tundra owner does decide they want more off road prowess.

Just sounds to me like another turd Gen just trying to stir the pot. Most people make the switch from a tacoma to a tundra purely for size and power increases. As others have said, lockers can always be added if need be. Now please kindly see yourself back to the dumbgeon OP. You got no business in here!:brianr:

Super steep, loose trail. 4low. Atrac on. Spinning, sliding. Make it to the top. Wife gets in. I shift into 4Hi... realize I totally forgot about the damn locker... Woulda made it far less stressful i'm sure. O well, made it up without it!!! haha.

I mean...I have a 3x Locked Land Cruiser with solid axles, doesn't it drive you 2020 Red Tacoma TRD Off-Road owners crazy knowing that your truck isn't able to go to the same places as my Land Cruiser purely because Toyota was too cheap/lazy to install a lousy solid front axle with a locker? It would certainly drive me crazy lol. Thats the only reason why I opted for a Land Cruiser over a Tacoma. :p

This guy probably knows that feeling. Got 50yds onto the beach and framed himself good. Took park personnel with shovels and a dump truck to pull him out.CD5F95C0-DA9D-462D-90C0-AE9929901645.jpg

I don't have locker envy, but I do have width envy if that's a thing lmao. Atrac holds its own pretty well in the big girl I must say.
