In addition to the 303 Tire and Rubber cleaner, which gives the clean black look, I tried the 303 Tire Shine recently. It comes in a spray bottle and the directions say to spray on and wipe off. It's water based instead of silica based, so it shouldn't be visible on the driveway after it rains. I haven't tested this aspect though. It gave a very clean satin look. Definitely more shine than just the cleaner, but not so much that you wonder how much tire shine was used.

I gotta say that I am impressed with the 303. It isn't the shiniest, but I think that's what we are after in this thread. It looks great and I was absolutely shocked at how long it stuck around. Plus, it is water based, so it won't (or at least shouldn't) stain your driveway. I would guess that I got 4-6+ weeks with the tires looking great and not needing a new application. Of course, YMMV.

I have been liking either PoorBoys Trim Restore or McKee's 37 Carini Spray Tire Shine.

Like I said, mileage may vary. I've only put it on my wife's SUV that normally goes from the garage to the school to the store and back. That said, I feel like most products need to be reapplied either weekly or bi-weekly. I also use the 303 tire and rubber cleaner. That stuff is really where the magic happens.

Thanks Cowboy, I have a bottle on the way (as well as some new seat covers, vent shades, ceramic coating, bed mat and some stuff I don't remember I ordered) :spending:

    Nice!

The first time I applied it, I used a shop rag to wipe it off immediately and to get a uniform coating. I was less than impressed with this method. The second time I applied it, I used one of those tire shine applicator sponges that walmart sells. I was initially disappointed with this method as well, as it didn't look to be uniform. However, after a few days, it had a nice even satin sheen. Enough that you could tell something was on there, but not in-your-face shiny.

I contacted 303 about the best way to apply it before it evened out. They said to just spray it on and let it soak in. It runs pretty easily, so my OCD won't allow this. I'm sticking with the applicator sponge.

Also, what ceramic coating did you go with?

Thanks for the tips.... I understand that surface prep aka cleaning is key to a good surface....

CAR Pro CQ Quartz UK edition is what i went with.. and as with tires surface/paint prep is key to that or so I have read many times.... Here's what I plan on doing but I may also buff and use a more aggressive cleaner to strip any left over wax/ceramic spray I have left so there is a good smooth, clean surface to let the ceramic bond to.

Nice. That's a good one, from what I've read. Will be interested to see long term thoughts. I did the Color N Drive on my wife's Expedition. Only about 3 months in and I'm still happy with it. I do wish I had spent a little more time on the buffing portion, but I had limited time as that is our main family vehicle. My truck on the other hand can sit for weeks between uses with working remotely and all.

I have the 303 graphene coating on the truck. About 4 months in and still happy with it as well. I know it is just a spray coating and not a true graphene. Bottle says up to a year, I'll be happy if it is sticking around after 6 months.

I just found out about 303 Aerospace. Looks like my detailing kit got cut into 1/8th the products lol. I can't wait to finally use this stuff on, well, everything. Goodbye tire shine junk!

I hate the shiny look too. I've tried all kinds of stuff over the years and found Chemical Guy VRP works great. Put it on and wipe it off, you get the clean black look with no shine
