Edit: the design must have changed. 4th one down - the one just above the large overload. You should be left over with 3 main leafs and two overloads.

Picture of my older leaf pack in the spoiler below:

Should look like this when complete:

Thanks - to me it looks like the third leaf down would get me the closest to looking like the picture of the 110 pack. The fourth leaf is an issue to remove because two of the three brackets are attached to it.

The picture of the 111 pack in the post above looks like the old design - second leaf is different and the bracket placement is different than the newer 111 pack.

My 111 pack had 6 leafs. The extra leaf was wedged in below the bracket leaf, above the two overload leafs. The picture you provided looks like a 110 pack as it only has 5 leafs.

Picture of the leaf I removed (older design) in the spoiler here:

The picture I posted has 6 leafs and is accurate to what I have (there are 4 leafs and 2 overloads). I think this is the updated design which is why it looks different than yours. There isn’t a comparable fourth leaf that is wedged below the bracket leaf so I think the only one that can be taken out is the third. Has anyone done this on the updated 111 leaf pack?

Here is what I did. @Crikeymike can confirm if the leaf pack design has changes since I received my pack.

Description of the leaf I removed in the spoiler here:

Sorry, my bad. I see the 4th leaf. So, the design must have changed. Please disregard my info.

All I got is the link to the extra 111 leaf, and it looks totally different than the leaf I pulled out. IMO, correct, it looks like the only option is to pull the 3rd one down, but you should probably confirm with Mike or DobinsonUSA :notsure:

Good find on the extra leaf. It certainly looks like the third leaf. @Crikeymike can you confirm that this assumption is correct (taking the third leaf out of the latest design 111 pack effectively makes it a 110)?

Anyone else’s 111’s loud as hell? These have to be the loudest leaf springs I’ve ever heard in my life. Even my dad’s ‘97 Ford with beat up bushings is quieter. The front mount is where the noise is coming from. I am packing grease in there almost every week. Comes right back and sounds like nails against a chalkboard. I have the poly bushings / faces were greased on install.

Mine will chirp over square edge bumps at speed, but otherwise no noise that I notice. I can only hear the chirp with windows down, too. They have been installed about 12 months now, with poly bushings and new bolts. Only lubed them upon install, so far.

It's the 3rd leaf that would be removed

Did you manually grease between the sleeve and the ID of the bushing before installation? That's the potential rotating point of the whole assembly, and if the sleeve and bushing don't have adequate grease, it makes a lovely sound.

I know it's a 2nd gen (aka master race) but it's relevant to this thread.

I recently switched from OME Dakars (CS047R + aal for 8 leafs total) to the Dobinsons 112-R pack with the 113-R aal (for 8 leafs total) and am very happy with how this turned out. My truck runs at least 6900lbs loaded so she's a heavy girl. Front bumper and skid plates are aluminum and the rear bumper w/dual swing outs (33" tire, 40L fuel and high lift) and sliders are steel. The Prinsu rack has an awning, Maxtrax and a gun case with recovery gear in it. Front is lifted approx 2.25" from stock. I may have been alright with just the 112-R packs but I still have room to add a few more camping items an will be pulling a small inflatable boat in the future. If you need a heavy duty leaf pack for your application, consider Dobinsons as a better option to the Dakars at 2/3 of the price of Deaver Expedtion stage 3s.

Truck with the Dakars (below) is completely unloaded (nothing in the bed).

    Old Dakars 75% fully loaded.

Truck with the Dobinsons (below) is fully loaded approx. 6900-7000lbs.

Jumping in to say I ordered my full kit last Friday, gets here tomorrow and Thursday. Will be installing Friday after work, picking up tires (G003 in 255/85/16) Saturday morning, and getting alignment right after. Will post pics here afterwards (if we don't break anything installing) but what I ordered:

    Front shocks: GS59-221
    Front springs: C59-352
    UCAs pre-pressed
    Rear shocks: GS59-940
    Rear leafs: L59-110-R

I currently have no added weight in the front (planning on bumper + winch early 2022), CBI overland bars + smittybilt tent in rear, no rear bumper. Probably gonna be a rough ride for awhile, but didn't want to order 2 sets of coils.

Will update in this thread Saturday!

I've got the same set-up except for the UCAs and love it! Those skinny tires are going to look great too! I want some!!

Awesome, got any pics? I also didn’t order a diff drop kit because I’ve heard mixed opinions, hope it isn’t an issue to get an alignment. Did you do a diff drop?

You have a skid there, but if you're wheeling and come off an obstacle and hit something, the weight/force of that impact is smoking your skid right into your now lowered diff, essentially transferring the impact directly to your front diff.

Some people don't mind. Great way to bend something important or invite a diff leak out on the trail.
