I just wanted to write this up because when I decided to paint my truck with tintable bedliner, I couldn't always find the info I wanted.

So my taco had tons of hail damage. I wanted an affordable somewhat unique way to fix it.

After doing some research I settled on UPOL Raptor Liner.
It offered the simplest process with what appeared to be the best results.

I bought 10 liters of the tintable version that came with spray gun and hardener.
I purchased a quart of 2K urethane based acrylic arctic white tint. I mixed 9mil of the tint in each bottle to get the color I wanted.
The actual painting only took about an hour, but it took me and my loving supportive girlfriend 5 days of prep work before hand.
The whole project cost me around $400 bucks. The most expensive part was the bedliner kit. I paid $170 for 6 bottles and the gun, and $116 for another 4 bottles.

Below are some pics I took right after painting.

    20191230_163355.jpg 20191230_163331.jpg 20191230_163429.jpg 20191230_163448.jpg 20191230_163509.jpg

The most important part is prep work.
Making sure the clear coat is roughed up(I used 120 grit sand paper) and any exposed metal, or bondo needs primer. Any spots that cannot be reached to sand or and plastic or chrome parts needs to have the UPOL adhesion promoter sprayed on it first.

Once the sanding and priming is complete, use a wax and grease removing cleaner. I purchased some from AutoZone that worked great.

I know this is not a detailed build instruction but I can answer any questions that yall might have.

Came out great! I only did the front bumper and rear bumper with the "Color my Hippo" Liner but we used Upol. Good durable products

Did you use all 10 liters? Do you have any quick tips? I'm highly considering doing my truck in raptor liner.

Just bought it, but it's been lifted and who knows what else has been crappily done before I got it. It's going to be a project for sure... but it's my daily driver too.
This is awesome! Exactly what I've been wanting to do to mine. Time to hit up my boy German for some prep time.

Ok, two quick questions I have been wanting to do this to my truck as well and I also have hail damage.

    1. Did you use Bondo to fill in the little hail dents and or did the raptor liner fill them?
    2. Since it has been a while could you please update us on how it is holding up?

How is the white raptor holding up now that it has been on a while? We are going this route as well.

Question? I would like to do only my fender flares on my white 09. Wonder if you’d be able to tell a big differences between the white on the tacoma and the raptor liner white

White is one of the hardest colors to match. You will likely see a difference.

@Mr.DIY hasn’t been here in a year and a half. You might want to research further elsewhere.
