    Hey all,

I did a little hunting and didn't see a "shop recommendations" pinned thread anywhere, so apologies if this is beat to death somewhere else.

I'm looking for a good 4x4 mechanic/shop in the (San Fernando) Valley, preferably someone who specializes in Toyotas. Everything from basic maintenance through bigger installation jobs. I absentmindedly left the oil port on my skid plate and the dealership managed to over-torque it and stripped the goddamn bolts. And now that my ToyotaCare has elapsed, I have no reason to keep going back.

    Thanks in advance!
    -Craig

Craig, I've seen a very busy 4x4 shop at the NW corner of Nordhoff/Woodley in N.Hills. Not sure if they specialize in Toyotas. I've never been there, but it's been packed for years when I drive back & forth. Let me know if you find anything.

Not SFV exactly but I had a really good experience with RPM Garage in Monrovia

Haha, I totally forgot about this thread. No I never did find a good shop. I didn't look too hard after posting this thread, though. Most of the mods/upgrades I do "myself" (that means I go to a buddy's house who knows what he's doing, and he drinks beer and yells at me when I'm doing it wrong). I had a local place finish my lift for me. I did almost everything "myself," but I just didn't want to deal with the leaf springs so I paid someone, but they seemed to specialize more in ATVs than trucks. So I'm still looking...

RPM Garage in Monrovia works almost exclusively on 4x4 Toyotas. I live near them and they always have a dozen or more Landcruisers, Tacomas and 4runners around their shop.

They are pretty small outfit though and the wait time for an appointment right now is over a month, but they are great. I get my alignments done there, and any installs I don't feel like tackling myself.

The nice thing about waiting for an appointment is I sometimes just say F it and end up doing it myself anyway haha.

Thanks for recommendation - I spoke with the owner while he was doing my alignment. He’s got a lot of experience in the JDM car world and said he used to work for Nissan.

They took the time to listen to the concerns I had about the parts I had installed and helped me confirm strange specs I was getting with my garage setup.

I don’t know how far @Superdave1.0 is from you but he knows Toyota’s well. If I ever have some issues, I would have my taco fixed by this guy . Read his post and see for yourself. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/superdaves-lift-installs-mechanic-service.682299/
