I changed mine out when i did cam gears as the valve cover was off. Easy peasy part to change regardless if its still on the truck or not. Also just as easy to pull it off, clean it with some brake cleaner and make sure it functions properly.

I replaced the PCV valve when I did the spark plugs at about 60k. I can't find any pictures but I recall it was a little easier to get to with the intake off so that is why it is a recommended item with the plugs. I remember the old one being still fine but it was a cheap part so I went ahead and replaced. I'll do it again next spark plug change every 50 or 60k miles is my plan.

Way back a long time ago.
Before I knew much about cars, I did change a PCV valve.

My best buddy and I, while in high school, attempted to fix his mom’s Ford Windstar van.
If we got it fixed, we got to used the van. So, being the teenage kids we were, we bummed a ride to the Auto-parts store. Talked to the guys their, (they should know, right ) They sold us a PCV Valve. It didn’t fix the van. We didn’t have a ride, and I haven’t changed one since.

Change mine every two years .....its such a low cost item but an item that is often forgotten to change out all the same!

Change at 80K throw the old one behind the back seat in a zip lock bag as a back up. Just like my belts! Probably no need to but I'm just stupid that way! I would definitely keep the belts as a back up though.

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
Did mine a couple of weeks ago when I changed plugs. Since it's on the D/S, and I had to move a bunch of stuff anyway, it made sense to get it done. Old one was a little less "springy". To my surprise, the factory one was torqued on pretty good. I didn't go balls out when I installed the new one - monkey-tight, not gorilla-tight.

    Did my 2009 4.0L at 150k and its Toyota # 12204-31030 about $12.
Was cleaning the MAF and TB so why not change the PCV as most of us forgot it.
Clean or change up to you.
