I stopped short of installing glass on my 2nd gen prerunner when I sold my kit and bought a 1st gen 4x4. More recent guys on here installing it on 2nd gens would be your best bet.

Did you get the fiberwerx first? And it was so bad you got the mcneils?

It’s funny, I had the exact opposite experience, but if they had sent me those I wouldn’t have been happy either.

My McNeil issues with shipping damage were similar to an earlier story, except I sent them back for new ones and they just returned the same ones even more broken. It was a miserable experience that lasted months of excuses, lies and stalling. I came out on top in the end, but wasn’t worth the trouble.

The fronts weren’t great, but I got them to fit very well. There was lots of body filler gobbed on and I had to cut off and reglass the part under the headlights and the point that lines up with the hood. I had to build new tabs as well since they trimmed off to much.
The layup looked as though they had been broken previously, repaired and then sprayed with black paint to cover it up.

The bedsides were a complete joke. I cut out the tail light area completely as well as the lip that folds over into the bed. Lots of reconstructive surgery from the shipping damage. I found a lot of honey combing under the gel coat as well. Ended up harvesting the tail light area from the steel bedsides to mount the lights. Good news was I could remove the sides without having to remove the taillights or bumper.

Fiberwerx sent me a great set of fenders that went on with minimal fuss. Everything about them including the appearance of the layup was spot on.

I replaced the McNeil bedsides with Advanced Fiberglass and had essentially the same experience and quality as Fiberwerx. John’s communication was better, although there wasn’t a whole lot to discuss between me and Fiberwerx. Fiberwerx and Advanced packaging is way better than McNeil.

I ran the McNeils for a few years before replacing and then gave them away. They did the job.
I suspect they had an old crusty set laying in the back they figured they’d offload on a guy all the way across the country.

Thats crazy. These types of stories are the reason I haven’t jumped on it. Seems like mcneil is either a good experience for most people or on the other side and a complete nightmare. Adv sounds great from everyone ive heard from i just dont need 4” atm

Got these duraflex bedsides a few weeks ago (have their fenders up front as well). Mounted them really quickly to get to an offroad trip. I could make the body line up, but really couldn’t care less. Got them from carid for 630 dollars including shipping which is a steal with current prices. No gas door, so I just dremeled out the inside of the bed to be able to reach the neck.

If you’re part of the long travel people that keeps their coils clean with white gloves and worries about on-road handling, I wouldn’t mess with them. If you’re like me and you’re probably going to break them within months because you break everything every few months, they’ll get the job done

yea i think they fit fine. Once you wiggle it in behind the edge of the lights, it sort of "pops" into place.

The 2" McNeils, is that 2" over the stock metal fender or 2" over the stock plastic fender flare? Looking at a 2" over TC kit.

i got the +2’s from McNeil. After 9 weeks wait I got them. I had to send my back, I ordered the bedsides and fenders. Fenders were ok.. bedsides had a crack and holes in them.

I’m still waiting on them to send me a new set. They have been pretty good about replying to emails. But still waiting on the word on what they are gonna do. I feel like they were a used pair of bedsides I got.

Two holes like this and a crack on the other bedside. I purchased a new product that was expensive and these look used.

Looking at a 3.5 kit now. So 4” fenders in front and thinking about just cutting the rear bedsides. There will be 1” or 1.25 spacers in the back to clear the shocks. Im guessing most people just get rear glass as it probably matches way better but wondered if this would look and function

Depends on your rearend setup - if you go sua you’d have a lot harder time without getting bedsides.

He hasn't been on here for almost a year and if you wanted more pics you could maybe start a conversation with him which might give him an email notification he could see, but it was a guy who after doing a lot of decent work for people on here, isn't recommendable anymore unfortunately. Here's some pics:

Eh, anyone's molds are so old for these they all suck lol - AFC fronts and Fiberwerx rears and not impressed with either but probably AFC better than McNeil.

My advanced +6 fronts did not fit well at all, luckily my buddy knew what was up and said they probably pulled them out of the mold to soon and new the heat gun trick to get them to shape without cracking, but I still had to grind quite a bit out of the headlight area just to get the headlights to even remotely fit. But the bed sides I got from them fit pretty good.
