Yup, and I've got another shop full of my tools and projects plus a storage unit... I'm just a degenerate

 

I really wish I had done the Tacoma build in the big shop with friends and the Chevy at home in my garage, I fucked up on that one.

 

@Sperrunner would be proud

Started my Pack Out collection...I mean kind of



My welding tools are in a Milwaukee Pack Out bag so this is a second piece.

 

I tried really hard to like these boxes and found none of my portable shit fits in em very well

 

I spent a good few months just kicking around the idea of trying them out.

My corded angle grinder is in the car, and a ton of tools are in storage but here's a few I just tossed in to showcase storage





Obviously I won't be a Neanderthal about it though and will actually buy a few more to suit each tool set.

Thinking one for the impact with impact sockets.

One for the ratcheting wrench with non-impact sockets.

Misc chargers etc and whatever other Milwaukee tools I add later.

 

The best thing I ever did was make a separate set of tools to lug around, I don't have to take apart the good garage stuff and if it gets stolen (like 100% possibilty in CA) it's whatever you've got fallbacks. I live in a great area and I still don't leave shit in the car ever.

 

Yeah, I love having separate tools for lugging around. Can't say I have separate power tools for that yet.

I agree on the not leaving tools in the car; I just get lazy at times but all the tools in there now are doubles

What did you find that makes carrying what you need to carry, more convenient?

Each power tool gets a bag with all associated tools and is labelled on one end. Then a separate bag that is full of consumables. So far its pretty convenient.

Sounds like you need more tools.

 

Maybe.... or I just need to figure out what should actually go in there. I have the same tools I cycle from the garage, to the kitchen counter, to my tool box, to my truck, to the garage tool bag, to the shed, to the backyard bench.
Unfortunately the sheer amount of tools doing the cycling wont fit in one or two bags

 

I keep my most commonly-used tools (3/8" socket set, drill/driver, screwdriver, etc) in one. Another for my Viair inflator. One for tie-down straps. One for whatever random stuff I need to carry somewhere that day...
