    Honestly I would get one of the support brackets @mechanicjon makes. That big heavy blower is balanced on the narrow lower manifold with only the engine hook as triangulation. The nose cone support really ties the SC down while also reducing nose cone flex. Very affordable and compatible with the dynamic tensioner.

    Got mine back from JonBondPerformance after roughly ~2 months. Did an incredible job with the powder coat, don't have any doubts that just as much care was taken with the rebuild itself. +1 happy customer:D

    Thanks! I thought so too but wanted to confirm. This was while parked by the way; if i'm idling in Drive it holds around 18. Getting peak boost at 8-9 PSI. Feels really healthy.

    I’m planning on pulling it off and using Permatex sleeve retaining compound for the bearing in the nosecone. Gonna also try cleaning the TB while I have the nosecone off and curing. I have the grey supercharger so no chance at getting a new nosecone if it gets screwed up.

    Update. Pulled the nosecone to repress the bearing. This is what the brand new oil looked like along with the bearing in question. I wasn’t able to find metal shavings in the housing and while you can see the little lip where the bearing was, I can’t feel anything along the line.

    I’d say I saved it. Only problem is, I don’t have any more supercharger oil.

    So I’m getting a rotor sent out from the high speed lab after thanksgiving. It will have the oil in it as well but I need the truck running to make it home before then. Would running synthetic 10w-30 for 6 hours of driving be all that bad for it? I’ll have a new bearing plate, gears and new bearings if need be. I got the bearing re-pressed in only using a actual press this time. No hammer mechanics involved. Seemed to fit much more snug. I still put a small layer of the sleeve retainer on but when I rotated it, didn’t see anything.

    Also back to the oil. I might try running it through some doubled up coffee filters and see what it looks like. If it takes out a good amount of the particulate on the first pass, I might keep filtering it to re-use the old oil. I admittedly used the full 8 ounces I was sent so if I lose some filtering it all out to run it for 8 hours total I don’t think it will cause too much harm.
