Does anyone have the Diamondback with the Front Runner bars and kayak rack? I have an Old Town Autopilot 120 and Salty PDL. Both are 12ft, I just want to make sure they will both fit before I spend $1500 on the rack and kayak holders.

How are you wanting them to fit? The FRO load bars are not going to be flush with the cab of the truck. The 12ft. kayaks would likely need to extend straight back behind the tailgate, over the cab at an angle or some kind of crosswise fashion. It might be better to ask FRO directly to see if they’re kayak mounts would apply for those kinds of hauling setups with an uneven height between the cab and bed.

So I may be too OCD for this but I think I've got everything installed right. Question, is this about where the lock rods should be in relation to the striker bracket? Also, anybody know the size of the set screws for the lock rods? I somehow managed to lose one. I emailed DB but thought I might get an answer faster here. Thx!

    working on it... :-)
Must be the stars are aligned. I ordered on the 4th and it hit the dock at work on the 9th! AMAZING! I received an email the day before stating estimated delivery date of 11/17. Next afternoon my buddy in shipping texts me that my package is sitting on the dock. I thought he was jerking my chain, but sure enough! Anyhow, it's now getting beadblasted to remove the shiny top coating, then I'm going to apply SEM acid zinc etcher and then off to be coated with Scorpion Bedliner. Should be ready in a couple more weeks. Just in time for the holiday shopping spree. At least I'll have an entire bed for my Christmas goodies that I can lock up until I get back home!

Ordered on Saturday and picked it up today from my local freight terminal. Haven't used it yet but honestly I'm a little disappointed with the craftsmanship. I'm not really the type to bitch or complain but for $2,000 it shouldn't have paint running off :annoyed:

That might be a defect thing. Did you contact diamondback directly about it yet?

Get in touch with DB. That escaped QC. That stuff is the type they sell in their Outlet/Seconds store.

I talked to them today and they offered a partial refund or replacement but wouldn't give me 20% back, even though that's what they discount their factory seconds at. Oh well

So then take a replacement, get one that has passed QC with no defects and get what you paid for.

Second that. Somebody will then be able to purchase that at 20% less.

Not worth the hassle to be honest. I'll just leave it on and sand a few spots down.

A little update on what the DB HD cover is hauling/gonna be hauling soon:

With the help of my friend last night, we got the Tepui Ayer II off, switched out the short legs (6” tall) back to the tall legs (8” tall) on the FRO Slimline II bed rack, and drilled out additional holes on the FRO tracks to add 1 extra bolt on each track for added stability (that’s been long overdue, lol).
Gonna be switching up to the Roofnest Condor Overland rtt which is about 10” tall closed, no added crossbars on top. The Tepui Ayer II is about 14” tall closed. With the taller legs on the bed rack and lower profile rtt, this still oughta clear the apartment’s parking garage gate that’s got a 6’8” clearance. Hopefully, the setup would still clear if I mount a solar panel and/or traction boards on top of the rtt.

I responded to you in a different post, too, but figured I'd also ask the question here (since this thread is the gospel for all things Diamonback). Do you have the part number for the taller FRO legs? I really need to order some of those, as I have the shorter ones and really need a couple extra inches of height.

Here was your response in that other thread (again, just posting this for anyone else who may need the info):

I know others have asked for this before and I provided the info, I believe, both in this thread and in a dm. Maybe, this should get stickied on the first page? What do you think, @CttAznRanger?

Just wanted to add more to this. I emailed Front Runner today and they set me up with 3 pairs of these extended legs. They were $68.95 per pair, plus tax and shipping (came to $232.62 total for me). I also found a website that sells them for the exact same price: https://ruggedoutlander.com/product...al-load-bed-leg-tall-pair#product-description

The guy at Front Runner said that my existing ones (supplied with the LASS028 feet/leg kit) are 5.98 inches tall, and these new ones are 7.68 inches tall. But I went out and re-measured mine, and I think he actually provided me with the width instead of the height. The ones that I have now measure just shy of 5.5 inches in height (and just shy of 6 inches wide), and the specifications for the new ones (via that website I linked) say that they are 8.2 inches tall. So in total, these should be about 2.75 inches taller than the ones supplied with the kit. That's exactly what I was looking for, as I found the height of the supplied ones is just too small to use that space for any kind of equipment/gear cases. I'm really looking forward to actually being able to store stuff under the RTT (on top of the Diamondback cover) while camping.

I don't see why not, but I'm not a mod or thread creator, so not much I can do on my end here.
Nice! Sounds like it worked out well.

My bad. I mistook you for the OP. Lol You guys have a similar looking avatar and I remembered it having a username starting with “C”.

Since my build write up is on the first page anyway, I think I’ll just add it to that.

Picked up the Roofnest Condor Overland earlier today. Hoping to install it later tonight. So far, it looks like a good fit for the current bed rack setup. Thank you Tepui Ayer II for your service. I hope the next users enjoy you as much as we did or more. :)

Confirmed... the taller Front Runner arms give you 2.75 inches of extra height under the RTT. This is my last post about this, I promise :) I just wanted to share this info, in case it helps anyone out.

    Here are my non-scientific results:
